Absolutely the worst customer service of any business I have ever worked with. WARNING....if you live out of the state of Iowa, DO NOT buy from this dealership. Out temporary license expired and we can't drive our new car for two weeks because of the inefficiency of this car dealer sending paperwork for our license. When calling them MULTIPLE times they were of Absolutely no help at all. WILL NEVER BUY A VEHICLE AT THIS DEALERSHIP EVER AGAIN. Plus I will warn all my friends in the Des Moines area not to buy here as well.

Do NOT buy a car from Willis if you are from Missouri. They insisted on doing the title work themselves. It's been a month and I have a car that I am paying payments and full coverage insurance on, THAT I CAN'T DRIVE! I can't even get a temp tag in Missouri without the title. If I had the title I could have licensed it the day after I bought it. BUYER BEWARE!

Five-Star Loyalty, One-Star Experience
I have been a loyal customer of Willis Auto for several years. Back in 2017, I bought my brand-new Jaguar F-Pace from them and enjoyed the vehicle thoroughly. However, my recent experiences have been extremely disappointing.
Earlier this year, I took my car in for its annual maintenance service. A few hours after dropping it off, I received a call from the service team saying my tires were worn out and needed replacement — and that there was a “sale” going on. Trusting them, I agreed to get new tires. After the service was completed and I paid for everything, I picked up my car.
Shockingly, just after leaving the dealership and driving onto Hickman Road, I noticed smoke coming out from the bonnet. I immediately turned around and brought it back. The next day, they informed me there was a leak near the engine and that the car was “not safe to drive.”
This really made me question their quality of service — how could a car that was supposedly serviced and cleared for delivery be in such a dangerous condition within minutes of pickup? It’s unacceptable that they handed over a vehicle unsafe to drive. That repair ended up costing me nearly $5,000, on top of what I had already spent on service and tires — almost $10,000 in total within a month. I was really upset and felt they were just money-minded and careless with loyal customers.
After that experience, I decided to sell my F-Pace and started looking for my next car. I again visited Willis Auto to test drive a Land Rover Defender. The salesperson, Kurt Larson, was wonderful to work with — polite, knowledgeable, and helpful. However, when his manager Bobby Simon got involved, the entire experience turned unpleasant.
While I was discussing numbers with Bobby, he was watching a baseball game loudly on his iPad and barely paying attention. His tone was rude and dismissive, and he showed no respect or courtesy — not even offering my family or me a seat. I genuinely felt disrespected and even sensed racial bias in the way he interacted with me. As a returning customer, this was extremely disappointing and unprofessional.
I walked out of there and went across the street to BMW of Des Moines, where I met some wonderful people who treated me with respect and helped me get a great deal on a new BMW X5 without any hassle.
Honestly, I had always trusted Willis Auto, but after these back-to-back experiences, I’ve completely lost confidence in them. I hope they take this feedback seriously and train their management on customer respect and service ethics.
