8:00 a.m. in Grimes and there is hardly any food at this store. there's no tornados no other roller items and very limited hot food. There is only one guy working the counter. I expect more at Kwik Star because you guys set the bar high.

This store was immediatly courteous with greetings and very clean bathrooms. One dude was doing deep clran and when i asked the manager if that jad mayo for my food , he told me they were out but let me get cupped condiments off the bar. Great store! Thank you

Kwik Star is a great place because the experience seems to be very consistent. The place is clean and has a great variety of food. The staff is always professional, they get you checked out fast

I LOVE this place. Best gas prices in the area, best quality and value car wash in the universe, Their dunkers and glazers are legendary. But the piece-de-resistance would be their chicken.....fried or rotisserie...either one is absolutely superior! Add to it that the store help is always nice, helpful and handing out free samples, this place is simply the model for what a C-Store should aspire to be.

I had a most unpleasant encounter at the Kwick Star on Gateway street in Grimes. I went in to purchase a rib sandwich and got some ice in the smallest cup they had (smaller than a little buddy). When I went to pay the cashier, Ian, charged me 49 cents for the ice. I was appalled and indicated I was making a purchase from the store, so there should be no charge for the tiny cup of ice. I also said that I have gotten a small cup of ice at the Kwick Star on 72nd Street store in Grimes when I have made purchases there before. That store told me as long as I was purchasing items from the store the ice was free - which makes sense. Ian wouldn't budge however, so I slide the small cup of ice to him, told him to throw it away, and paid for the rib sandwich. As I ate the sandwich in my car, I grew upset that a business would sacrifice a customer for a tiny cup of ice and went back in talked to the assistant manager, Kim. I took Kim back to the fountain area and pointed out their smallest cup, explained I got some ice, picked up a rib sandwich and went to pay and got charged for the ice!!! I asked her what kind of business savvy was that - sacrificing a purchasing customer for a small glass of ice??? She went on to explain that was policy and I asked her why the Kwick Star up the street and the one next to Home Depot doesn't enforce the same policy when dealing with a purchasing customer. After much back and forth she agreed to give me a "complimentary" tiny cup of ice. This is the last time I will every shop there. When this business gives more credence to a cup of ice rather that appreciate a paying customer, the business common sense is lost.

Kwik Star is the best gas station in the state hands down, if you can't make it to this place I guess hyvee or kum n go, but this place should be your go to
