“I stopped by today on the search for a nut/washer and bolt to assemble my nightstand. I was greeted at the paint aisle by an employee (I believe her name was Julie or Julia). She not only helped me figure out exactly what hardware I needed, but was able to point it out immediately in the aisle, and even wrote a ticket to me to take to the cashier. I loved her positivity and helpfulness. I usually go to the Mall Drive location, as it is closer to me, but I will definitely be returning to this location!”

“Do NOT go a store that doesn’t specialize in paint. Expertise is an undervalued commodity in our society, especially for those who read a couple Wikipedia articles, watch a YouTube video, and think they’re an expert. A store where people have true expertise from experience & want to share it is a treasured find.

So go to a paint store. Not only that, go to a *good* paint store. I’ve been to a couple in Iowa City and Pittsburgh Paints is the only one I come back to.

Knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and great service. The paint itself in a class above a big box. I made the mistake of getting exterior trim color from one of the big guys and guess what I’m redoing this spring after one winter? While Pittsburgh’s main color looks as good as when I put it on - and that’s with their mid-tier paint.

Getting ready for interior & Pittsburgh’s sampler covered in one coat (nobody else’s did) and looked evenly applied even with a mini-roller. Again, PPG’s mid-tier against mid & top-tier lines from other brands. No contest.
