This person still baffles my mind.I do not know what his problem was .He had a bad attitude from day one.He came in with a crew of six other guys.The other guys where great.None of them had a problem or were a problem,like Thomas was .If it wasn't for Thomas working with the rest of this crew,he would have been asked to leave within a week.I put up with his nonsense for two months.His foreman was also staying here and after two months of his attitude he also had enough of thomas and sent him to a different job site a month before their job was complete here .Every one was glad to see him gone ,even the guys he worked with.Now in response to some of his comments .
He was not paying $60.00 a night he was paying $240.00 per week .Which is our weekly rate.Yes ,this an old motel that we are working on it takes a lot of money and a lot of time.
The ceiling did start to sag .It was fixed in two days.There is no mice in the walls we have a pest control company for things like that.We have hard and soft mattresses here the last working guy that was in Thomases room had a bad back .So trying to help him ,I went to Menards and bought a sheet of plywood to put between the box spring and mattress to make his stay more comferitable ,I'm sorry i did not take it out for thomas,but he never told me it was a problem for him, or I would have removed it.There are no tweekers here.There was a couple staying next to him that were trying to start a cleaning service,so they kept odd hours . I guess to thomas that makes you a tweeker.This guy has so much nonsense in these comments . Like I said earlier this guy baffles my mind. Funny how he forgets to mention he had clean towels every day, his room was cleaned good every week and he was always treated with respect.
The best part is.There are a lot of other motels in the area if it was so horrible staying here, he could have easily went to one of them.So after 8 months and all the other people that have stayed here, not one complaint except for that John that did not know how to push a button. Bottom line is please consider the source of people who comment.Some are just out to be spiteful for what ever reason. Please just check our earlier reviews and ignore this guy.

“Such a fantastic property!!

It’s Frank Lloyd Wright’s last remaining hotel. Magnificent! A must for fans of the GOAT.

The hotel is lovely. Just perfect.

We got a queen suite. At the time I booked there were no king beds available. It’s period appropriate, so maybe there aren’t any here. We had a nice suite. 2 rooms and a bathroom. Great shower. Lovely room.

The common areas are incredible. Just oozing with charm and character. If you’re a FLW fan, this is Mecca. So much Prairie Style architecture in this town. So lovely.

The staff is fantastic here. Kay in the Draftsman in the basement is so cool and fun. Carole at the front desk was incredible! Come to Mason City and do it right!!”

“This is not a 5 star hotel, but it is a very nice affordable short stay place. Rooms are very clean, fresh linens…soft and quite comfortable beds. Nice clean bathroom and excellent shower! Wonderful staff…and a good breakfast. And it was extremely quiet…no loud noises or late night distractions. Yes we would stay here again!”
