my friend lost her wallet, they will not answer the phone any time either if us have tried calling them, we were made aware it was turned in last night, not by Walmart but by another person through social media, we tried again today to reach out and call them, in order to let them know when she will be able to pick up the wallet, and they still will not answer, it was ringing for four and a half minutes, this is not at all professional!

I'd actually give zero stars if I could....I waited for more than 20 minutes AFTER a page was sent out for customer service at the jewelry counter. No one showed up. I guess my money isn't wanted here.

Love the people here! Always friendly!! I'm never disappointed with the prices! The even have a cart at the entrance showing me I'm saving more than a quarter per dollar compared to Hyvee. Blessed to not have to worry about saving money everyday!

Old asian lady door checker makes me not want to shop here. Been in town over a month and it never fails. Buy one item or buy a cart full and she is at the door keeping me from getting my daily things done, scrutinizing my receipt and checking it against every single item I just purchased 60 seconds ago. Would be easier to just hire half a dozen of these people and have them watch the 4-6 lanes that are open when I pay for my items. By the way I shop during non peak hours with the hopes of making my purchases quicker and moving onto the next thing on my "to do" list. Even worse I am usually stuck behind two or three old ladies who are getting shaken down ahead of me, you know how those old folks love to steal. Anyway, learned my lesson. Started buying most of my household items at Menards (they also have groceries) and doing much of my grocery shopping at Aldi. Started getting all my prescriptions filled at Hy Vee. And guess what? They are all cheaper and I get done faster and the home improvement stuff at Menards is much higher quality. And nobody at the door to waste my time and essentially treat me like a thief. So I figure on average I was probably spending $350 a week on household stuff, office supplies and groceries and I seem to be saving $100 a week. That also means the "loss prevention" door n*** just cost Wal Mart the loss of $1,400 in monthly sales which they won't ever see again. Don't get treated like a criminal, get treated like a customer and shop elsewhere.

Whoever is responsible for reordering stock isn't doing their job. I've never been to a Walmart that is consistently out of items... entire "sections" of items. One week there were no onions... not a single onion in the store... not red, white, or yellow. Last week there were no birthday candles... literally, every candle, number candle, and decoration was sold out (in a display of about 25 options). For weeks the canning jars have been sold out. This week there were no jalapeí±os. They also have a lot of rotten produce and expired/short-dated products... so be sure to check the dates! I ended up purchasing rotten cherries, cucumbers, and yogurt. I've found many expired dairy items in the shelves. In their "clearance" section they are currently trying to sell pouches of baby food that expired in October 2016 (almost 8 months expired). Is that even safe or ethical? Oh and if you need assistance, good luck... finding a store employee is next to impossible.

Huge parking lot. When the garden center is open use it to enter and exit. Easier and faster than the front. It's an average old school Walmart. Standard food and prices. The tire/oil/vehicle service is lacking. It took them all day to change my tires. Wow! Nothing much stands out about this place.

I could tell you all about how filthy and disgusting this store is and how the majority of the staff most likely are more suited for carney jobs...but I'll just sum it up in one compound word. Shit-hole.

The Walmart here in marshalltown is one of the worst I have ever seen and I have been to several walmarts all over not just in this state!! The store is always dirty it's gross the fruits and veggies are never fresh you can never find any employees to help you find anything do so hopefully you have time when you go in there to just wander around til you find what you need and when there is someone by chance all you get Is that isn't my department I will find someone that can help you and nobody ever comes so don't count on that only a few of the cashiers are nice all of the customer service managers are rude the bathrooms are always filthy the toilets are never flushed it's disgusting if you can buy your products somewhere else I would recommend it highly I came in one night to purchase a camera and of course those are in locked cases I had to wait 30 min to find someone the guy that was bringing stuff out of the back from unloading the truck called over the intercom 2 times for someone to come help in electronics nobody came then I finally stopped a girl that worked there and ask her if she could help me got the good ol answer of this isn't my department I will go find someone she came back said lady would b right there I said ok continued to wait like I said by this point I had been waiting at least 30 or 35 min so when the lady from that department got back there she helped some kids that had just walked up I was furious and said I have been waiting here for over 30 min she said I will b right back I have to walk them up to the front then when she came back she proceeded to help somebody else that had just walked up I was PISSED I stopped her before she walked them up told her what I needed and asked if she could just get it and walk it up with the other people then she says sure I will do that then she didn't have the keys to the cabinet for the cameras so I had to wait for that all the keys she tried wouldn't work she kept asking other employees if they had them nobody seemed to have a freakn clue after another 15 min of playing the who has the keys game I finally got what I needed needless to say I was not very happy and neither was my husband this Walmart is a joke nobody has a clue and nobody wants to help anybody don't come here unless you absolutely have to

I can't stand shopping at the Walmart in Marshalltown. I will only resort to shopping there if I know I am unable to purchase the items elsewhere. Maybe it has to do with the clientele, which is no fault of Walmart. The store has always seemed dirty, especially the bathrooms. I have noticed more then once bugs flying around the produce, more so during the summer. The kicker is, they have staff who are assigned at the front door to stop you as you are leaving so they can check that the contents of your cart matches your receipt. The way to avoid this is to make sure that no matter how large the item is that you are purchasing, that it is covered by or contained in one of their bags. However, should you be one of the unfortunate souls who does not do this, you will be subject to being stopped, regardless if you checked out right in-front of the employee. They claim that this is to help prevent shoplifting. Give me a break. So people who are law abiding citizens, who pay for their products, are subject to being stopped under the assumption that they have stolen something. Not what I would call a good customer retention program. If you have no other choice but to shop at the Marshalltown Walmart, be sure to have all of your items packaged so your time is not wasted any more than it needs to be.

I was in Marshalltown for the weekend of Nov 21-25 and I went here twice....& both times were a nice experience. 1st time I went 11/22....I was just there briefly to pick up some theraflu medicine and then a 2 liter of Pepsi which was only 64 cent's ((I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT))....whoooo hooooo. In southern California it will NEVER be on sale for that cheap...so a HUGE bonus for me as a shopper. When I went there the 2nd time 11/24 it was $1.50. Then to my surprise in the check out lines...they have some cold cases & I spotted some bottles of Pepsi that I have never seen before in California....cool bottles. Really lightweight aluminum type .$1.50 I just had to buy one because I have never seen one before...otherwise it'd be a RIP for the price I brought the empty bottle home in my luggage..lol. *check the pix I've never been in a super Walmart before. This one had a huge Subway inside....+ alot of other lil seperate stores....like photos etc..and was really nice inside. Has a HUGE selection of things and is so nice compared to walmarts where I live...such as the Panorama city, Ca ((YIKES!!))...or the Porter Ranch, Ca. locations. The 2nd time I went 11/24 ...I picked up a few things for my flight to snack on and checked out the store a lil more. I got a pre made smoked turkey sandwich ...which was VERY GOOD....they have a large selection of sandwiches and salads...all w/ decent prices. I wish they had these type of walmarts in my area. They have a HUGE selection of grocerie items....if anyone is ever in the Marshalltown area....check it out for any of your needs Cashiers were pretty friendly too...and no long lines to check out

Interestingly, much like Hanover, PA Wal-Mart.
