This is a nice hotel. The rooms seem a bit dated, or maybe they just have had a lot of use. It's a convenient location for us because our son goes to Cornell College in Mount Vernon. The prices are a bit high, in my opinion, for what you get. But, we will pay them because of the convenience. We have always been greeted by friendly staff and have never had any problems.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Ricky and his staff. Thank you all for taking care of us!

Rooms were great. We didn't have many interactions with the staff, but the front desk person was friendly. 30" from Iowa city.

Dirty, tiny rooms, carpet is dungy. Bathroom tile has cracks. Small tv, took forever for the room to cool. Noisy, can hear the next door person walk. Horrble!

Only thing that could be improved is they need fluffier towels! Everything was clean and breakfast was as good as any hotel breakfasts. Nice place to stay!

Great place to stay. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. We brought our three dogs with, and there were plenty of places to walk them around the property. Definitely would stay here again!

Property was relatively clean and appeared recently renovated in some fashion. Lobby is quite beautiful with gigantic ballroom style staircase, which me and my girlfriend joked about while walking up and down like we were being presented at the ball in 19th century England. We stayed at this location in particular specifically because of the pool and Jacuzzi, which Jacuzzi was totally out of order even though they told us it was not so it felt like kind of a bait and switch. Also, the entire pool area was extremely humid and had a strong odor. The room was pretty nice with updated furnishings, however, the carpet was VERY old with a V. Front desk and housekeeping staff was nice enough. I believe they live on the property as I believe they were all hanging out in residing in one of the rooms and were parking near it. If we ever came back to Mount Vernon, we definitely would not stay here unless the Jacuzzi was working. Honestly, we probably won’t be back to Mount Vernon. Lol.

Very nice place. Beyond a couple of bleach spots on a chair and the carpet, it was a very quiet place. Comfortable bed. Nice service. Good breakfast. Gave it a four star cause it is a Sleep Inn, not the Hyatt but it was still awesome. Loved it. Will stay

This place looks tired. Old carpet, non-smart TV in the rooms, the corner guards kept falling off in the room, hot tub was out of order, no towels in the pool area...Breakfast was OKBeds were comfyStaff was friendlyIt's a fine place to stay, but it is a bit over priced for what it is.

Sadly, I have to update this review. I have stayed here a few times. New owners. All the experienced staff is gone. It's now family run. The adult son runs the place. The senior citizen parents clean the rooms. The cleaning is way below adequate. The room and lobby furniture is dirty and extremely tired. The breakfast is dreadful and the same stuff every single day. The towels for the pool are threadbare with holes. The air conditioning in my first room wasn't cooling and smelled of mildew. Windows filthy. Biggest issue was cleanliness.

Here's the situation: I booked a room at this hotel, received a confirmation, was en route, and was just minutes away from arrival when I got a phone call from the front desk. A very nice gal called to inform me that despite my reservation, confirmation, check-in AND the $30 hold for incidentals already applied to my credit card, they were canceling my reservation because they were "overbooked". What?? She explained that the online booking site is a separate thing from this specific hotel and "this happens all the time." Um, Choice Hotels ... this is the digital age. This kind of last-minute thing NEVER happens when you book Marriott or Hilton. They'd make it right, even if that meant securing another booking at a comparable nearby place. You gave me a phone number and said "good luck." Nix your hotel stress . . . choose a hotel you can count on. It's probably not this one.
