One of the most crooked businesses you can find. Do not get misled by their advertising themselves as a "small hometown business.". Continuous extortion and violation of all agreements. Owner, Jerry Taylor first estimated engine rebuilding at $4,600. After got my engine in his shop, said would need $1,000 upfront to start diagnosing, would apply the rest to repair. Promised quote in 2 weeks, After 6 wks and no quote, called and said that a used short block for $300 was needed for repair, that machining my block would be 'too expensive'. Said shipment would be $100 , the block would be delivered in 1 week, and in another week he'd produce a hard quote. 6 more weeks later calls to tell us that he wants $8,000+ (x2 the going rate) to repair my engine (spun rod bearing, intact block, machinable crank). Billed us $375 for the used short block + $275 for shipment. Never produced a hard quote. Demanded another $3,500 to start the repair. By that time, it had become clear to us that we were dealing with a crook. We wanted to get the engine out of that shop ASAP.. Two other shops quoted rebuild -at $4000 with testing - Harvey does not test their rebuilds. The rebuilder I wanted to ship my engine to warned me :"Be careful with those people. They are mad now that you are taking your engine out of their shop". They were right. The owner said I would have to come and pack, and strap onto pallet my engine myself if I wanted to get it out of the shop., Another condition was that I sign a paper he concocted to release him from any liability. In addition, he said that would not allow the shipper hired by the other machine shop to pick up the engine. I would have to buy and bring my own truck with a liftgate if I wanted to get the engine out of his shop. The guy must be insane. We are taking this crooked business to court.Service: Engine repair

Car parts and a machine shop, that's something you won't find at other parts stores. If they don't have the part they will get it.

Took a pair of motor heads to them quoted 250$ to remove the bolts they Called told us “there were no cracks†so we had them proceed with removing broken bolts they called said “the heads weren't flat†so we had them proceed with planing them to make them flat so that the heads would seal with the new gaskets paid 373$ got them home and there is 2 cracks where the dowel on the motor goes and there's still old gasket on the head they told us to bring it back in now suddenly “ the cracks were there and they forgot to write it in their notes and tell us! †1st off won't ever go back to them 2nd off for 1st time experience they should have honored their word customer is always right (we even have another head that needs work to replace that one) they wouldn't do it terrible customer service 1star is being generous
