“This is a parish is diverse with a variety of people from different cultural backgrounds. Sometimes at special masses a portion will be spoken in another language. First Friday Mass in the evening is my absolute favorite. After mass we each light a candle and sing Marian songs as we process behind a Fatima statue. It is very moving. The Daddy Daughter dance is a highlight for our family. I really enjoy the Latin Mass. It is beautiful inside and it is easy to focus on Jesus inside, very traditional and beautiful. We are not members but attend often. It is a great local parish.”

Great community of people, strong and consistent leadership within the church, and a good foundation of faith based on the Bible. We liked that this church was in the same area of town that we live in on the southside. There are also many people from Carlisle who attend this church as well.

“FREE COMMUNITY SUPPER ON TUESDAY NIGHTS AT GRACE METHODIST CHURCH
Grace Methodist church, 3700 Cottage Grove avenue, hosts a free community supper on Tuesday evenings All are welcome. 5 pm to 7 pm.
+ There is also a free drop-in medical clinic at the church from 5 pm to 7 pm.
And, if you linger, you can often listen to a rehearsal of the Des Moines Community Orchestra. That starts a round 6:30 pm.
+ Oh, and if you have a few extra minutes, check out the Henry Wallace/George Washington Carver historic marker at 38th street and Cottage Grove.”
