“Gayle and I were at the Spirit Lake Cabin last week. As our drive from Ames took us into Spencer, this Hy-Vee was a convenient place to buy groceries for our stay. This Hy-Vee is huge by small town standards, so learning the grocery store takes a bit more time here. We found everything we needed, but it did take a little more time to figure it all out. I like that Hy-Vee Liquors is attached to the main store and that the wine and beer selection is really good. In hindsight, we over shopped, maybe because we were hungry after a long drive. Our cart did include a bag of chips which were reasonable priced. Check-out was chatty and efficient, and soon we were on our way. Touch up shopping would be done later at the Spirit Lake Hy-Vee.”
