“We were out of town on vacation when our minivan started acting up. Most times it started normally, but other times, it wouldn't start at all. After needing to jump start the vehicle today, we called Lakes Autosport. They were able to test the battery and alternator almost immediately. From the time we called Lakes Autosport to the time we drove away with a new battery installed was only 45 minutes!This business had friendly staff, clean facilities, and efficient service. If we lived locally, we'd be return customers for sure.”

“Some of the BEST people in Spirit Lake! They treated me with respect and they were very attentive to me. When I first came to Great Lakes Motor, I had a flat tire. Pete came to Kwik Star across the street and aired up my tire just to get me to his shop. My tire wasn't fixable (it was a bad flat!), but he put my spare tire on so I could get to my original fix it guy, I'm originally from Hull. Today, I had to replace the battery in my remote, and Pete replaced it for me. Pete and the guys at Great Lakes are my new favorite people, and my go-to if I ever have car issues! “I went to this little town to pick up a load from the Indian factory in my truck broke down. I was able to get ahold of this repair shop to help me with my dilemma. They was very fast efficient and professional, but the most important part ,they have a shop mascot named Rocky that was very comforting and welcoming to me and my service animal . They put a sensor on and found out that I have an Evap issue… no one had ever told me I should make sure that my engine is off when I fill with gas in my Prius! “The service dept did a great job in troubleshooting and fixing a couple noises in my pickup. The final bill matched the estimate so no surprises of repairs I didn't agree to. I was able to reschedule my appointment twice due to my schedule changes and they were polite and accommodating each time I called. The waiting room and bathroom were clean. Every employee was happy and friendly, which makes for an enjoyable experience. The service advisor, Michellci, did a great job in communicating repairs needed on the estimate. She was friendly and answered my questions with a great attitude! And my pickup is purring like a kitten with a new (rebuilt) alternator, belt, a heater fan that finally works properly. I am a satisfied customer who will return the next time my pickup needs repairs. Thank you Okoboji GM Toyota!”

“I would have given them a five star if the purchased remanufactured transfer case had ever worked. The original transaction went ok. Well, I put the remanufactured transfer case in my F150, but the 4L would not work and previously did. The axle would not free spin in neutral. I took it for a test drive and the speedometer was erratic. This is usually a sign of something worn or not right in the transfer case shifting between 4L and 2H or 4H. I finally took the transfer case out after a lot of trying to figure out what was wrong and put in another one from a salvage yard and it works fine with the same electronic shifter. I put the remanufactured transfer case on a table and removed the electronic shifter. In my opinion it wasn’t shifting correctly. I paid for the shipping to return the remanufactured case. They said there was “absolutely nothing wrong”. I guess they can say what they want. I didn’t get any certification. I suppose the next buyer of the transfer case can decide. I just know it didn’t work on my truck (which it should have) and the one from the salvage yard did and I lost money and time. Besides that, my truck works again and I’m happy. US Powertrain gave me 80% back so they made a couple hundred dollars and can now resell the remanufactured case to someone else, so they’re very happy. Since they returned 80% of the cost (not including the $100 I had to pay for shipping), I will give them a generous 80% of the 5 stars, which should raise their ratings a bit.”
