Went to GM-Toyota in Spirit Lake, IA, 3 times with the same issue. Came away worse off each time. They charged me over $565 for a new module and it didn't fix the problem. They said I'd need to replace a speaker, which I did, still no fix. Then they said I needed a new amplifier - I left and had a friend take a look at it. He had it working fine with my old speakers and amp within an hour. He had to correct a lot of the "work" that had been done at GM in Spirit Lake. Still have a bunch of broken clips and parts where they obviously didn't know what they were doing.Left one star as you can't post any lower - - -

Buyer beware!Of the many dealerships I've delt with over the years, this one is the worst. Just because they have a multi point inspection done on every used vehicle doesn't mean they fix what they find. In my case, less than 2 months after purchase I needed a lot of work done. All 8 spark plugs went bad, a coil pack went bad and the 4x4 system stopped working. They knew about the ignition system problems but of course, I didn't discover any of that until after they sold my trade in. When they finally got a somewhat suitable replacement in, they offered me roughly 60% of the purchase price as a trade. My advice is that if you buy used from here, get the warranty. It's the only thing that will protect you from being completely ripped off. Had I known then what I know now, I definitely would have gone elsewhere. The sales people were really nice, I'll give them that much. The service department was horrible though.

I really wanted to stay local and was thrilled when the exact car I was looking for was scheduled to be shipped and not spoken for. Had a little snafu come up but Pat and Darwin were gracious to work with me and I appreciated their understanding on the matter. Pat spent time explaining all the features of the car and kept me updated when an earlier arrival date was expected. So grateful that I was able to keep the purchase close to home. Thank you Okoboji Motor.

Zach Erickson saw me looking around in the lot and took the initiative to ask what I needed and found exactly what I was looking for. He got a key and explained all the features to me. What he wasn't sure of he found the answer which I appreciated. He was supported by Cody/Cory, Barack, and Darwin. Zach is new but loves his job. I could tell he wants to make customers happy and satisfied. I certainly appreciate that!

They used to have really good service and nice amenities but the last couple times I’ve been there, things have tanked. Sure the charge ports and popcorn are nice but restrooms held together by duck tape and post it notes kinda undermines that. Likewise if your title is “service advisor” you better advise on services. You can’t hand a customer back their car after having it for 3 days and expect them to be happy with you when the maintenance light is still on.

Troy was very friendly, informative, and helpful. What a great guy! I did have difficulty scheduling over the phone - the employee could not find me in “the system.” It was slightly frustrating since I have purchased cars and had all of my service work done at Okoboji Motor Co.

We leased a 2018 Toyota Tundra, and during this time, due to two uncontrolled mishaps, we had to get the RH front fender, and RH front door painted. At the end of the lease, we decided to purchase this truck, so its been ours since new! This week after going through a car wash, we noticed the clear coat was peeling off the RH front door we had repainted. After stopping in at the body shop, they were going to repaint the door the next day, because the clear coat shouldn't have been peeling off. Once arriving home, we received a phone call from the body shop manager, stating that according to their records, all the work they had done on my truck was on the LH side, so it wasn't their problem. I know what I've paid to have repainted on this truck, but I guess shame on us for not noticing on the paperwork, due to some ones incompetence, they entered the wrong information in the system. We have done business with this dealership for a number of years, and during this time we have purchased/leased numerous vehicles. Well, I guess there are plenty of other places to choose from, somewhere that my business is important to them!

The delay in getting the proper authorization for my new windshield through the insurance, which I bought when I purchased the car was extremely frustrating. It took several weeks. In addition, it did not appear there was good communication between the sales office and the body shop.Ron Mc

I was unaware that the “express lube”portion was now appointment only! Was told bus was going to back rack for “lite maintenance “! About 10 years ago I worked at this facility and I knew the bus wouldn’t fit in the back anywhere! We used to service all of the dnr heavy duty trucks in express lube why can’t it be done there? Oh the bus weighs more than the jacks can lift! I said all I want is an oil change nothing else! But they were determined to send it to the back. I made the appointment and came back! After a half hr I was told bus wouldn’t fit in the back so they came up to the express lube! No sticker put on window and NO mention of the open recall that is still open! This would have never passed when I was there! This dealership has gone downhill. Service writers in express lube were fun to chat with and they are the only reason for a 2 star

I had asked to have someone assess my door panel's window controls which were slightly sunken in with the thought that it could be reinforced. I received a call that it would be $850 to fix even though all fully functioned appropriately. I declined as that is a lot of money for something that essentially was not a big issue. I was not told over the phone that they had already torn apart the area upon inspection. Now my only solution is to have it fixed even though I don't have the money to do so. It is completely broken. I would have appreciated a call ahead of tearing it apart that that was what was needed in order to do the assessment. Now I am sitting with broken parts which is worse than when I dropped it off.

Service nightmare. Brought vehicle in and told them specifically what was going on and what to check. They insisted I changed a sensor I didn't change, sent pictures saying a sensor was in a completely different spot on the engine (which it was not) and Michellci was extremely unprofessional and wanted to argue, rather than listen to my specific information about what I was needing done. I even read off the part number that was replaced - "no, you replaced this one". I believe I know which part was replaced, thank you. Ended up paying for a diagnostic that basically told them 'nothing is wrong', even though something clearly is. Typical dealership that wanted to throw a fuel pump, catalytic converters, and other nonsense at it that it didn't need. 'I have one of my best mechanics on it he knows what he's talking about' seems to be the norm for 'well you're wrong and we're right, even when we're actually wrong'. Picked up the vehicle on the trailer while 4 different employees walked by and sat in their vehicles to watch, rather than offer assistance to get the vehicle pushed back and loaded up. Not happy and will never do business with this place again. Don't even get me started on the insane prices they put on 15 year old vehicles..

I would leave negative stars if I could!! It's pretty bad that a 45 year old housewife knows more about cars than their certified mechanic. I called to schedule appointment reached the automated service. I left a message with my name, phone number and that I believed that the left caliper was locked up on the back rear driver's side because the rim had brake dust and the rim was hot. No return phone call. The next day stopped in to Okoboji Motors and scheduled appointment. The day I dropped my car off I again told them what I thought was going on with my car. No one call me that entire day for any updates on the status of my car. The next morning I called and was told there is nothing wrong with my car, that the mechanic drove it through the parking lot and the car is fine and the rim is just dirty. My reply was well why don't all four of my rims look dirty then if it is dirt. When I stop to get my car I was told I owed $67.00 I told the service department that I don't believe they did their job as they should have put it up on the hoist to check the tire, brakes, caliper, wheel bearings ect. Driving it across the parking lot isn't doing there job. The service department decided to keep the car after I told them I was taking it somewhere else because I knew that their is something wrong with it. They called me later that day and told me the left caliper was locked up and needed to be replace. Wow I believe I told them that twice. Long story short 4 days with no car, no offer of a loaner car, no apology for their incompetence, no offer of saving the first service of $67.00 absolutely nothing to make it right. I purchased my car from okoboji motors being a past customer you would think they would at least apologize. I will not be back for service as the people I encountered were extremely rude to me because I had concerns that my car wasn't properly looked at, also I will never buy another car from this dealership if this is how they treat loyal customers. Also Mike Boone was very condescending to us, when we ask to at least apologize for the situation. The bottom line is they messed up and we questioned it. I was right they were wrong, I never leave reviews but this time I am because they couldn't simply say they were sorry for their mistake and the inconvenience it caused.

The Service Advisor was absolutely excellent!!! She took care of me from the minute I called!! The vehicle was not purchased from the dealership, but was under warranty. She never said a word about that. Informed me of the part being unavailable, but would find it. She did just that! When part came in, the service department fixed it immediately! I was highly impressed with their whole service department, and will highly recommend them and have! I work in a sales and service industry and appreciate it when I am taken care of the way we would take care of clients. Excellent service!!!!

We purchased a vehicle from them, and the buying portion went fine. But once we ran into an issue with our brand-new truck before we even left the lot, their attention and care went out the window. The sale was done, and they didn't care to rectify the situation or keep us happy. The major complaint we have is with their service department, specifically Mike Boone. He was a complete j*** and very condescending. He made us feel like the issues we were experiencing was of our own doing and I can't believe they allow his behavior as it poorly reflects on their customer service. We will never return to this dealership and since this happened, we have shared our experience with others and it sounds like this service department has a history of NOT taking care of their customers. We live about an hour away and had to take the BRAND-NEW truck to our local dealership where they identified the issue and took care of us. Since then, we called this dealership back to try and update them and they haven't even returned our phone call. If you are looking for an all around great experience in buying a vehicle, do yourself a favor and keep looking for another dealer. You will be happy you did. 0/10 do not recommend Okoboji Motor Company.

The service provided to me from the Dealership was outstanding on their part. It would be nice if you had a little more accurate tracking process for status of vehicles in the transit mode. While I can track mail yet have a $60,000.00 vehicle sitting out in limbo makes me think that would be one area I would focus on because not everyone is patient and understanding might make them reconsider purchasing not from the dealer but from Chevy as a whole. I understood the waiting which was not a problem for me but once I was told it was going to be here 3 weeks ago and then every day after that no set date and it just shows up 4-5 weeks later very frustrating. I do love the vehicle, but I hope that for the next person purchasing whether from this dealer or a different dealer I hope you improve the tracking of the vehicle.
