This hotel was nice! Easy to find. The room was clean! The lotion was out in the bathroom, but it was not a big dea,l I had my own. Beds were a bit too firm for my husband. All in all had a good experience.

Overall good place to stay. Employees at the front desk were cheerful and helpful even at 11:30pm when we rolled into town! Great hangout space up front with a living room atmosphere. Pool was a good size but there is no hot tub. No free breakfast as this is not an “Express”.Rooms: The rooms are ok but the beds left something to be desired. Ours was caved in in the middle which caused us to roll into the middle a lot.Food & drinks: They have a small selection of foods and drinks inside at the front desk. Bennigans restaurant is right outside of the front door.

To start I’d like to say the hotel was clean and very nice. On the other hand the receptionist ty was a nightmare. He was rude and acted as if we were interrupting him as we tried to check in. We were there for training for work and he made us put a new card on file even though the company booked the rooms now I was charged over $1000 for both rooms to my card. I have called and explained my concerns and will adjust my review on if they make things right.

I walk in with no other guests in the lobby, front desk is on the phone. Manager is sitting down telling the front desk agent what to tell the person on the phone. I patiently stand there waiting (not greeted yet) it’s been about 1 minute. 2 white guests walk in and the manager springs up asking them what she could do to help. I’m flabbergasted, I stay looking at the manager in disgust. Very unprofessional, corporate should look into this behavior.

Stayed in this location within the last week let’s just say Ty was pretty up set that I was in the lobby to check in and interrupt his phone call. Service is very important and if Mr TY is the first point of contact for most guest then Mr Greg Ty is definitely not a fit for the front desk or to be running a hotel alone. You never know who you run into treat everyone with the same level of kindness and respect. I really hope things get fixed I enjoy staying at holiday inn locations. Have a blessed week ahead!

This is worse Hotel service, a guy that works on night shift and his name is Ty was super rude. First when we have arrived to the lobby door was locked and he saw us and was pretending that he didn't see us. Once he finally open the lobby door had a super bad attitude when he was doing the check in. He assigned us a room and we went twice back to the front desk because the key didn't work. We think that room was already occupied by others because we heard the TV on and people talking. In our third intent this man gave us a key for a room that was with a sing bed when we had a reservation for 3 adults. After all we went back to the front desk and request a cancellation and this guy was very hostile and disrespectful. I'll not recommend to stay in this Hotel and I hope the manager reply my email and able to get my refund. I love Holiday Inn but this one is the worst.

Maria the manager is very rude! I was sitting at the bar with my friend early morning wanting mimosas and food…she came very rude and loud! Then asked was we using coupons so loud and aggressive and demanded we sit over to the side like we rosa parks or trailer trash or something and mind you she is black so this aint no race card game! now I did get coupons for breakfast after their front desk staff checked somebody into my room while Ive been staying here for 4-5 days already! a whole family walked into my room unnaounced I have a macbook and a lot of cash and other valuables! how scary to know they gave someone actually a whole family keys to my room! what if i wasnt there? i was given 2 breakfast coupons for that lol and was embarassed I got them after loud she announced it as if I didnt eat breakfast and pay and tip well to the servers (they can vouch we were extremely nice and TIPPED WELL) everyday Ive stayed here! I will never and I mean never stay here due to my very own sister mistreating the only blacks in the restaurant! Im just so shocked I wrote a whole review on this horrible customer service!!! oh and did I add I’m a platinum elite member a couple stays away from diamond and this how they treat they top customers! Maria you are disgrace and not invited the bbq!

Actually we were guests for my grandsons bday party. Nice motel. Daughter paid for a suite with pullout couch, fridge, coffee, cupboards etc. & a queen bed. I am glad I didnt pay because the suite sq footage didnt seem much bigger than a regular queen room. It was nice though, as they had double doors that could be closed between queen room & pullout couch room. They had 2 tv's, 1 in each room.We always enjoy the pool area!Now this is gmas perspective. My daughter likes it better than the motel next door with water slides etc. She is pleased with this motel. Benigans delivered room svc & they loved the food AND service.

I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately, my experience was not great. Despite the acquisition by IHG, the hotel did not seem to have undergone many improvements or updates. Additionally, I was disappointed to learn that breakfast was not included in my stay, and the attached restaurant's breakfast buffet was overpriced and located in an odd hallway. On top of that, we were checked in incorrectly, which caused the WiFi code to not work. Overall, the hotel fell short of my expectations and I cannot recommend it. I hope the management takes note of guest feedback and makes improvements to enhance the guest experience in the future.

Like this hotel! Conveniently close to highway. Close to a really great restaurant. (Bennigans) great customer service. Women at night at the desk was super helpful. Pretty small room but it was just right for my husband and I. Comfy bed. Right off the elevator.. it was quiet. Just perfect for our stay in Iowa. Will be back. Def recommend.Food & drinks: Bennigans restaurant is attached.

Had a 3 night stay and enjoyed it. Rooms were nice and clean. Overall, it was a quiet atmosphere and they have a nice common area that overlooks pool with a lot of seating, a fireplace and TV. Common area is clean and well kept. They have a small work out room, which would be crowded if 2 or 3 people were in there, but it's a nice clean space with 2 treadmills and some free weights. Decent size pool (8ft deep) and pool area where people can hang out. The pool ceiling can use some repairs, as there was quite a bit of condensation that would drip and some rising. Most likely due to the age of the building, seeing as there was some construction happening in the front, so I hope this is on the list of remodels/ repairs. Two reasons why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 are: no free continental breakfast offered (though they have coffee and there is a restaurant attached that has breakfast you can purchase), & no hot tub.

We were put in a room that had a ridiculous amount of noise throughout our entire stay and it was NOT the elevator, we have no idea what it was just that it was incredibly noisy all night long and kept waking us up constantly. While watching TV we had to turn it up loud just to hear it because of the excessive noise from whatever the machine was making that noise. As we prepared to leave, I dropped my phone, as I reached down to pick it up I was baffled when I came across this needle with black liquid. Neither my husband and I use any kind of insulin and this certainly is NOT insulin by looks. My husband is in the medical field and knows better. The front desk clerk tried telling me the room had recently been occupied by elderly people so maybe they left it by accident. Worst excuse I have EVER heard. Thankfully the clerk refunded us, now we wait to see if our money actually comes back. Do yourself a favor NEVER stay at this hotel if you value your health and want a decent night of sleep.

This hotel was just right. The room was spotless, the hallways smelled fresh and clean. Bed was a little soft for me but not a cause for any complaints. Their rates are reasonable compared to other hotels. It is not far off the interstate so easy to get to and to get back on the road.We didn't interact much with the staff, but when we did they were friendly.Great job Merle Hay Holiday Inn!
