The 1st thing to remember is that everyone is struggling with staff and to be kind to the staff who are there in trying to help people. I found that staff were more than willing to help me and most of the time would actually walk me to an area that I had questions about rather then just give me a general directions and send me on my way. The store was clean and well organized and staff were wearing masks and they had screens up to protect their cashiers all things that show me that they're caring about their employees. Target has all kinds of products that are appropriate for young families. My particular area of interest is their paper products and groceries. It's where I go to get my bulk paper towels and my bulk Kleenex. This particular target has t grocery area and they have all the items that you could ever need. They have high quality in the fresh food, frozen food and dry goods. They have a great beverage selection including water. Health drinks and wine and alcohol. I find that I can usually get in-and-out in a very timely manner.

Women's restroom needs some major work- the cleaning chat hadn't been updated in quite some time. Employees were nice though.

We moved near this target about a year ago and I have had a few minor negative experiences but overall it's a great store! Staff has been super helpful during covid and I love shopping here over other stores because people are always wearing masks. It's a very clean store and they have THE BEST CHICKEN STRIPS. Was inspired to write this review after I tried curbside pickup for the first time ever. This was 3 days before Thanksgiving so I'm sure they were busy but they were so quick and easy efficient and I received all my items. When I pulled up the guy was already outside with my items. He loaded my trunk up and we were out in a few minutes. Super happy with the service and will be using again. Glad this is the closest target to me!

One of the bonuses of moving to Des Moines was being near a Target. Life is good. This is a nice store with good inventory except the grocery section. I am not overly thrilled with that area, but I do most of my shopping for food at Hy-Vee.If I need household items, games, books, a greeting card, etc., this store is great. The store is clean and the staff are typically helpful. I visit at least once a week and will continue to do so.

This Super Target is okay, they were just out of a lot of items on the drink isle. I was a little surprised to see that because Target is usually never out of anything and that's why I prefer this store over their competitor. I was however able to get a couple of usb cables and a new phone case that were on sale and a sweet potato wrap from the deli since I love their deli section. They had truck parking so for me that's ALWAYS a plus.

This is my fav out of all the Targets in the "Des Moines" area. This is a very large spacious Target. Employees are quite helpful but are not over doing it (as some Targets can have more employees and bother you instead of actually helping) this one isn't like that though. Plenty of employees and clean and well organized. HOWEVER, they need to have just as many employees even when the automated system is incorporated because with less employees the patrons can kind of run around doing what they want, being loud, messing things up. And it makes it a little scary. But aside of the more automated self check outs, I still like this store and it's still my fav!

Jeebus "Sandy" cheer up. I love Target, don't get me wrong...but my kid was making a purchase and Sandy had the personality of a wet paper towel. No "hi" or, "did you find everything okay", or even a smile. Dropped my kids change on the ground and stared at us like we were the ones at fault. THEN when she sees the look on my face, tries to explain that she "handed it a certain way so it *wouldn't* drop all over the floor"! To add to this (wish I was kidding), we go to the "snack bar", need something removed that scanned more than twice and no one seemed to want to be bothered helping when the light was flashing...btw, it wasn't busy. After an unusually long time and even AFTER my kid went to a cashier and pointed out the flashing light on the self-checkout...nothing. We ended up leaving without a purchase from the snack bar. Anddddddd many, many cashiers passed us!!

Typically I have great experiences at Target stores but that was NOT the case today. I bought a winter coat this morning on my way to work in Ames to layer on top of a lighter coat as I was afraid I didn't bundle up enough. Well, I didn't end up needing the coat after all because I was inside all day unlike many days when I have to walk across ISU's campus--when I got back home to Urbandale this afternoon I went to my local Target to return the coat. I had the receipt and the card I used to purchase it with. The woman at the customer service desk immediately told me that she couldn't do same day returns from other stores because "that's their policy." So she told me to either wait 24 hours or to "go back to Ames." I read through the whole return policy while there and there is nothing in it that states they cannot accept same day returns from other stores. I went back to customer service and asked the woman to explain to me why she wouldn't accept my return and to show me where in their policy it states that. Her, nor any of the other employees knew where it stated that. I asked to speak with a manager who never showed up. Rather the employee and manager just spoke over their walkies and the woman emphasized to her manager "it's a REALLY LARGE COAT." What does that even mean? Are you accusing me of stealing or something? Meanwhile, 3 other employees came to spectate and SECURITY stood there with his arms crossed. They eventually processed the return and said that it's "because of their systems" that they "can't do same day returns from another store." Well, obviously they CAN do it, they just don't want to-- I do not appreciate the way I was treated while trying to do a simple return. There was no reason to have security present for a return with a receipt! I spent so much money here and this was my favorite store but this experience left a really bad taste in my mouth and I doubt I'll be back. You made this loyal shopper feel like she did something wrong!

This...does not look like a Target. It's the nicest looking Target I've ever been to. It's in a weird location, it's worth the trip. It's a Super Target, but even then, it seems huge. In a good way. Biggest selection of food and baby things (the 2 groups I shop for most) around, and everything is super clean. Will definitely not be going back to the West Des Moines Target after finding this one.

This target is currently undergoing some changes but they are for the better. They have expanded their beauty section and made a little beauty bar that looks similar to Sephora layout. If you are beauty lover, you will love the changes and how the products are laid out. As for the rest of the store..its huge. They have a lot more selections in clothing and home goods then other Targets and everything always looks very neat and put together. The staff are very nice and also helpful when I come.
