Pretty sure no one works here… came to by boxes and no one is to be found, except for some people talking outside. Try to call the phone and get an automated response that all employees are busy helping someone in store. I’ve been the only jackass in here the past 15 mins.

I took advantage of the self-service feature and found the process extremely straightforward and convenient. As long as you have a good mobile connection on your phone, it's quite easy to check in and out. The truck I was assigned was clean and in good condition.

If I had to I'd give this place a negative stars because this place is a joke. I talked to somebody on the phone about 2 hour south into Iowa was quoted 182.00 thanked this person told them I'd call back to reserve after I talked to my wife and I called back just before I had to start work they tell me it's going to cost us 270-300.00 dollars... I found later they put coverage plan on the car and they didn't offer or ask me if I wanted coverage at all they just did it... You claim to be the best guess what you are the biggest joke especially when someone or somebody is limited on their resources... I'm telling everyone find or go somewhere elseI stand by what I said about U-Haul U-Haul is nothing but a bunch of crooks they don't even work with customers by trying to give their deposit back they say they have never took a deposit but they did and they are a bunch of crooks

Will never work with this company again. I placed a reservation five weeks ago for a 26 foot truck to be picked up at 8:00 AM on a Friday in late September. Received a call Tuesday saying there was a problem with having the equipment I needed. Only option offered was to drive to Marshalltown, over an hour in the opposite direction. I told them this would not work, representative told me someone would call me on Thursday to see what they could do. By 2:30 on Thursday I had not received a call, so I called the 1-800 number. After being transferred twice, representative first said he confirmed my reservation and that I was good to go. Then he put me on hold, came back on the line and said the equipment was not available. Options offered were to either take a truck that was two sizes smaller or wait until after noon to pick-up. With only one day to move, neither was an option. Representative said it was "peak season" which makes no sense at the end of September. I asked why I had to make a reservation if I can't get what I reserved and his response was that they can't guarantee anything, which is not acceptable in my profession. I said I could take a smaller truck, but would need a trailer to accommodate for the lost space. Offered a trailer, but I had to pay an additional $105 to rent it for the day. I asked if he could do anything about the price as this was not my error. His response was no, it's not their responsibility to ensure the equipment is available and "what can you do, you have to move right?".I will never work with this company again and I would discourage anyone else from trusting your moving plan to them.

I have had a very bad experience with Uhaul overall. We rented a 6x12 trailer to take from this location in Iowa to Colorado. The lady helped us hook it up and supposedly checked everything and the lights and said we were good to go. We had about 1,000 mile trip ahead of us and within 2 hours into the trip we noticed the lights weren’t working on the trailer nor were the turn signals. But the lady had just said everything was good. Little to find out, she didn’t even check them. We stopped in a motel for the night and the next day we noticed one of the tires on the trailer did not look very good and looked like it was starting to split and was worried it was going to blow out so we had to call roadside assistance. We waited for almost 3 hours for someone to come change the tire. Just a pain in the a%*!! I have always used Uhaul and over the years, I have spent tens of thousands there but this is the last time I ever use Uhaul. I will never ever use their services again. I spent about $400 renting the trailer and then some things came up last minute and we had to change the destination of where the trailer was going to be dropped off and I was charged another $500. Overall, I had the trailer 6 days and paid almost $1,000 for a 6x12 trailer! That is absolutely absurd. Then when I was about to drop it off, the address came up as a house when I searched it. I called the number multiple times, no one answered. I called a different Uhaul location in the area, explained the situation, and they told me I could drop it off there and not to worry about it. I got to the location and the lady had a totally different story and said that I couldn’t drop it off there and to take it to the address showing up as a house. When I finally got there, after almost getting stuck and couldn’t turn around, it was sketchy as heck! There was no where to back a trailer in and get turned around. No one answered the door and a German shepherd came running and jumped over the gate. Finally, a woman came out of the house and told us to back the trailer in. After trying multiple times, there is not enough space in the yard to get it in the place she wanted it, so we unhooked it from the vehicle and left it in her driveway and she said “I’ll get it” and we left. Rude, sketchy, and the worst place ever for Uhaul trailers and trucks to be. I will never use Uhaul again!

Highly recommend. This U-Haul site sets the standard for all the others and have turned me from a neverUHaul guy to a regular customer for my Rambler transport and other needs. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and approachable. Keep up the fine work there.

Had the best experience at the Uhaul in Waterloo Iowa on University Ave. The staff was super helpful, so accommodating to our moving needs and so friendly. I would recommend Uhaul for anyone’s moving needs.

Go somewhere else. This location in particular will bad mouth you when they think you cannot hear them. Didn't even honor my reservation. The most terrible customer service I've ever seen at a U-Haul. And I was a mover for 15 years. This location is ridiculous.

I met people who were not lucky enough to do the job and when I got there to load it they told me it would take 2 hours for 2 pallet so I had no choice but to say yes and later they said sorry we will not burn you today if it is tomorrow ???

This business took my 3 day reservation, and credit card number and then called me later on to cancel my reserved truck and trailer and informed me they only rent 24 hour increments because of high demand. So it don't matter that I'm paying the full price for 3 days they still won't. They expected me to drive 3 hours away from my current location in the opposite direction I was traveling. I am highly upset as I have never had as many issues until now and I was a frequent uhaul customer with personal and business matters always referring them to friends, family, and customers. The man in the store was rude also when I showed up to speak to someone directly about the issue. I am highly disappoint in the service and will be letting people know from here on out the issues as well as never returning as a customer. I do not recommend this place as they need to get their priorities in order.

These people are the rudest and care nothing about customer's needs,There main concern is taking your money changing facts of an agreement and charging late fee .My contract said the 13th and I was spot on with the 13th , they intentionally moved it to the 12th to charge more and a late fee .My paper in hand calling corporate is where I needed to contact .I now use another way to haul things I highly suggest everyone to to exactly that use anyone but U-haul .

Just call their competition. Two different locations set me up perfectly (with multiple options) the time that it took U-Haul to call me back the first time.I talked to four different customer service people all offered me the exact same wrong trailer... Mixed in with constantly contradicting themselves. We have a trailer available oh no we don't,,, we have a truck available oh no we don't... From now on U-Haul is the place of Last Resort. The rules that Define the way their customer service Representatives can handle a situation, made finding a solution impossible even though options were available. In a perfect world, I would have gotten a trailer for two days. They only had a trailer available for one of those days. I guess their rules make it so they can't give me the option to only rent for one day. I was traveling 600 miles to help a widow move because she had no one else... I was willing to be very flexible.. U-Haul made sure that that didn't happen...Their competition gave me exactly what I wanted, because it was Memorial Day weekend, I picked up the trailer on Friday and I returned it on Tuesday and was charged for a single day.
