This simple part is crucial to an oil change. If it is bolted on properly, no leaks. If not, you lose your oil and possibly, your engine. Freedom Tire performed an oil change on our vehicle on June 11. The person who changed the oil failed to properly tighten this plug. A few weeks later on a trip through Nebraska, the oil light came on and we stopped the car, checked the dipstick and it was dry. After a tow and service in which the Nebraska shop discovered the missing plug, we are left in a state of great uncertainty. Has the engine been damaged? We returned home and had the vehicle checked by the dealer, which found metal shavings in the oil pan.
It is such a simple thing. You have to ask, "How competent are the mechanics at this shop? "
More to come

Check engine light came on showing misfire code P0300. My 5.0 stalls when I’m DRIVING. I took it in, they cleared the code and told me “cars fine, no light, no misfires!” The check engine light came back on the next day AND STALLED ON THE FREEWAY. All they did was joyride in it for 30 miles.

Misdiagnosing vehicles and not diagnosing cars correctly and doing the major problem first should be your your main priority. When you make a mistake like fix a heater core in the summer because of windshield fog when it can easily be temporarily bypassed to find the true problem especially when not netting best in the summer - Your team should swallow your ego sometimes and bell the customer that way you earn yourself a lifetime customer and not lose a customer for life snd cause a lawsuit on your hands. When charging over 100 an hour I’m sure you could of just ate the labor snd still afforded to pay your mechanic for his hours at less than 20 an hour flat rate. To fix the customers head gasket below. Reading these problems I can see right through them because of my 20 years of
Mechanic experience. It’s truly sad to see.
Swallow your pride and do what’s right for the customer next time.
Heater core jobs in the summer don’t seem like a priority when the leak and steaming coolant was from it coming out of the overflow due to s bad head gasket. Simple compression test / leak down would of solved all this. Or even testing the coolant with a block tester kit.
Educate your mechanics to always find the major problem first so you don’t cause “come backs” due to misdiagnosis

I went to see them for my coolant leak 2 weeks ago. They spent over 30 minutes looking at it and said they needed to flush the engine, radiator, adjust the thermostat and fix the heater core. The charged me $2,000. They had it for 2 whole days.
I get the car back and I’m still
Having the same problem with coolant leak. Then they tell me it’s the head gasket. They should have checked that out the first time knowing that could be a reason for the coolant leak. In a nutshell they misdiagnosed the problem but tried to blame me. Then had the audacity to ask for more money. $7,000 to be exact to replace the motor. It also seems like they did this on purpose. I called the general manager at the main office in Ames and he didn’t seem interested in helping me, he sounded like he was trying to get me off of the phone.
I’ve already filed a complaint with the better business bureau. I’m going to tell every I know to stay away from this place unless you like giving your money away.

I have been using this business for my oil changes for a few years. The staff, for the most part, has been friendly, courteous, and low-pressure. If you wait with your car, they have some nice amenities now, like recliners, soda/popcorn/snacks in the waiting room.

I wish I could give them more stars! We have used this location for oil changes, and they're always prompt and friendly. But today the service was over the top. The tire pressure light came on in my car and I couldn't figure out which one was low. A little panicked, I called and asked if I could come in to get it checked. I was told yes, and no appointment was needed, that they would fill up the tire and get me on my way. And that's exactly what happened - the tire was filled within minutes, with no charge. Beyond unexpected and absolutely wonderful. We'll be using this location for any future service. Great place.
