Hy‑Vee Pharmacy on 51st Street in West Des Moines is a great pharmacy that is always on top of things. The staff has been extremely helpful for years and they provide great customer service to long time customers. They are very polite, super informative and willing to take the time to search other Hy‑Vee pharmacies or research other options when a medication is out of stock. The pharmacy can pick up prescriptions for families and they often staff two registers when the line gets long. Although there are long lines at busy times, customers can do a little grocery shopping while they wait. Overall the location is above average and always meets or exceeded expectations.

    Scheduling a vaccination can be done online. However, show up at least 20 minutes early to check in, then expect to sit there up to 15 minutes past your scheduled time. Btw..you are not the only one who can schedule for the same time slot.
