I purchased a pair of biking gloves for $150. The product is supposed to keep you warm below 0 degrees. It was 20 degrees while I was using it. Didn’t work. I wore them once. I called the Erik’s bike shop in Des Moines. Asked to a return or exchange. Spoke to Joel, just a complete smart mouth. Asked to speak to a manager. He said no, won’t do you any good. Called back and got the a “manager” from the office name Cameron. Same smart replies. All their calls are taken in Minneapolis. Told them to have a district manager call me. He said no. I said I will call back Monday and he said you will get me. I’m the manager and it won’t go any further. Horrible product. Awful team members. Don’t buy from here. They don’t guarantee their product.Thankfully William Lisle was amazing. He helped fix this issue. The call representatives Joel and Cameron should not be in customer service.

DO NOT BUY CLOTHING FROM THIS PLACE The customer service at the West Des Moines location is severely underwhelming. The issue is they are selling products that don't stand up to their advertisement. The staff members including the managers stated that clothing can not be returned because our experience with $150 gloves that are marketed to keep your hands and fingers warm up to -25 degrees was a subjective experience. My husband was out shoveling the snow due to a blizzard and his hands did not keep warm. When he called to see if he could return them they stated no he could not return them and no one wants to buy used items and they would not have a business if they took back returned goods. When we stated Scheels, Bine World, Foot Locker, etc has a return policy they said they could empathize because "too bad so sad" would be unprofessional. Those were the words of the worDs of someone who identified himself as the Customer Service Manager out of the corporate offices overseeing 30+ stores. Congratulations to Erik's we will not shop with them for products they don't stand behind.

I bought my bike online when they were having a sale. I drove over an hour and half to pick my bike up. A person walked by me and asked if he could help. I told him I had a bike to pick up I ordered online. He walked me to the back, had me sign a paper and walked me out. No asking if I needed help to adjust the bike to my size or anything. I will never shop here again or recommend. Very disappointedUpdate: I was reached out to by a Manager and discussed my experience at the store. I feel like he took my concerns seriously and wants to make improvements. ?

Cael was very friendly, knowledgeable, happy to assist us. He even helped us take our bikes to the truck and load snugly into the trunk bed. Our experience from our first visit through delivery was enjoyable. I highly recommend Erik's and their West Des Moines staff!

Honestly never experienced a bike store that won't ship the size/color you want/need to the shop for free. This one will charge you $75 to ship a bike. Chatted with customer service online and they were not kind at all, even my husband said they were rude. Why would I spend the money to ship a bike when we live in a large metro area where every bike store will bend over backwards to help Hou? We really wanted that particular bike, but we'll honestly go where business is appreciated and just get a Trek. I'd spend $200 more on a bike with a company that's willing to work with us, than a company that refuses to waive shipping costs.

Riley was extremely helpful with helping us choose snowboard and bike gear for our sons. Knowing nothing about these items he explained them very well and made us feel like we made good purchasing decisions.

The rep that was helping us was very knowledgeable and personable. Had a great experience. They have a really good selection of gear. The best around.

My seat broke on the trail and it was Erik’s to the rescue! I was greeted with a smile and professional courtesy. They hooked me up with a new seat and even adjusted my derailleur to ensure I would have a smooth ride!

Had tire tubes checked and 2 replaced on my granddaughter's stroller while I waited and browsed the shop Thursday afternoon. Staff was welcoming and professional and service was efficient and fairly priced. Got a nifty dingle bell for our granddaughter too. ? We will be back and will recommend to friends.

I was impressed with how they changed the inner tube to my back tire. They were somewhat friendly (they need to be more enthusiastic). But coming into the store I had 16 dollars, that’s what I was willing to spend on an inner tube. But they took the bike from me and changed the inner tube themselves. Now I’m paying more than I wanted to because of labor. They charged me 22 dollars and were able to break the price down to 16. But I wouldn’t recommend shopping there if you have an emergency inner tube that is needed

These guys all go above and beyond for me and i appreciate it so much. Needed a small part, stem shim, and didn't have a shirt as it was an unexpected stop so I asked from the door and they brought it out to me within a minute while they were busy with many customers going in and out. I've had my derailer bent back in place, hooked up with a spacer, guy looked all over for an internal cable routing piece for my dropper post, sized up on my bike with their new software which has helped my cycling tremendously. Oh, helped with cassette change for the indoor trainer I bought there on sale and pumped up my high pressure dropper post with shock pump for me. Amazing service and helpful with questions. Get your bike here and they will take care of you along with any gear/accessories u need. - a very happy customer

First visit to ERICK’s today. Just shopping for bike accessories. Whole different experience with staff than I have experienced recently. I was a Razzie’s customer for decades before, so happy I can continue with a bigger operation with such good customer service vibes!
