We stayed at the Marriott West Des Moines this pas weekend and had nothing but a great experience! The shuttle van driver was already waiting for us when we arrived at the airport. The hotel has been recently renovated and was very clean. The M Club lounge was a nice perk for my Premier status and the design of that space was thoughtfully crafted! The lady who oversees its operation was so friendly and attentive. The location served us well as a go between the airport and Waukee. If we are ever back in the area I'll certainly come back for a second stay!

JW MarriottThursday eveningCheck in by Night auditor?1. Computer not working2. No welcome gift for Lifetime Titanium3. M Club Door not working - ended up being a fuse resetFriday 7:15 pm1. M Club club door not opening again2. Front desk lady explains to how to use the magnetic key( like I can’t use one) She resets my keys and they still don’t work.3. I ask her what she is going to do , she said I told you I was calling someone. ( I never heard her say it)4. I asked her to call my room 716 when the door was fixed. Never called.5. Later I came down to help my wife bring items in and I checked the door- it was open. Bit concerning.6. I also pointed out the serious moisture condensation on the widow of 716 which was running down and pooling on the window ledge and then on to the wall.Sat morningGentleman at from desk1. I pointed out the serious moisture condensation on the widow of 716 again because I didn’t believe the lady who didn’t call me about the M Club door would pass it on, which was running down and pooling on the window ledge and then on to the wall.

This hotel is for families/kids. Do not stay here if you want quiet/sleep after 7am.Pros- clean rooms- great location- friendly staffCons- the room next to me had 3 kids staying in it. They slammed the door repeatedly (I counted 4x in less than one hour) when I spoke to the front desk they said they didn't have any rooms to switch me to but that their door was broken and thats why it slammed. The employee also mentioned she had put a work order in for the door previously but would do so again. The kids stopped before i returned at 10p until they started again in the morning. They offered me free breakfast but I would have preferred to sleep in past 7am.- the key pad for the north entrance is broken like wires hanging out. A little sketchy and inconvenient if you have luggage.- the rooms are outdated in general. There is no USB ports which is quite odd. I spoke to a couple at dinner who said they've been traveling the country and even the cheaper hotels had USB ports. The hotel is an a very accessible location so I just walked to Walmart and bought one.Overall it's an okay hotel for families (parents who want their kids to have their own room to run wild) otherwise dont book for more than one night.

Great location, nice and clean, great staff. Smaller run of the mill room, but it was clean and did the job. REALLY chlorinated pool, so know that. Nice enough place for the price.

We have stayed at this Marriott numerous times over the years. We attended the Des Moines Goodguys Car Event the first of July 2023. The staff here were very efficient with our check in, restaurant & bartender quick to suggest items that were great after a long day on the road. We had two rooms and both were clean and comfortable. We are returning again this year for the same event. Julia, Director of Sales was wonderful to help us make our trip come together. I would definitely recommend if you're in the area this is the spot to stay.

I'm a motorcoach driver. And enjoy my stays at the Marriotts. Always clean. And that is my #1 need.Walkability: Close to mall and many restaurants.

Hotel overbooked itself and moved us over to Springhill. Poor business practice and although my elite status wasn’t attached to my reservation, it shouldn’t have to be to be treated the right way.

My Bathroom had bugs and mold in it. The hotel looks dated and needs some modern furniture and updates. The exit/entrance doors were broken and the only way out was the front door. I only saw I very small elevators for a 4 story hotel. Not impressed for $160 a night.

We had an incredibly positive experience with the West Des Moines Marriott. The staff were kind, attentive, and took care of us. Every person we interacted with was incredible, even when my children were briefly sprawled across the couches of the lobby.

My room was clean and smelled nice. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. A kind woman named Rebbecca at the front desk was very helpful and thanks to her and the rest of the positives from this stay we will be back.

Being charged of items that were not ordered. Been trying to work with them but no one ever calls us we call them. The bar is the worst one I have been in, charges things you dont order but have vouchers for. Not a bar place you can trust. I see I got no answer from Marriott!!

Rooms are clean, staff was fine, shuttle service is provided. Freddy the driver was very accommodating and always on time. They don’t have breakfast included unless you are a member. There isn’t too much around food wise. There is a mc Donald’s and a cafe walking distance. Second time staying here. Lots of business people seem to stay here.
