Great facility! One of the few e-gyms in the area, which is an incredible feat of technology meets fitness. Also great free weights, yoga classes, a pool and tons of other classes and cardio equipment

They charge to much for what they offer and when you end your membership they still charge your card and its a pain to try to get your money back. My cards were locked and some how there new system still charged my card the worker told me. If I ended my membership why is your new system still with my card info charging me. Warning be aware of this fraud!!!!!

I’m not sure what is happening with your staff but you really need to hire some QUALITY people! To try and tell a staff member that there is a particular machine that you’d really love to use but aren’t able to due to the machine being so heavy and hard to manage, having tried explaining myself over and over and over while feeling as though they couldn’t comprehend what I was saying to the 2 ladies at the front counter; the younger gal kept saying to me “well I can use it and don’t have a problem” while disregarding my frustration and making it only about herself, beyond rude and disrespectful! Another frustrating issue is the lady who works on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the EGym counter put my wrong email in and because of this I’m not able to use the EGym app on my phone, the app asks for a password and I am not able to put in a password due to the confirmation email won’t come to my correct email address and THERE IS NO WAY FOR THE FRONT DESK EGYM ASSISTANT TO CHANGE IT !!!!!!!For goodness sakes please figure out a way to correct this issue and make it possible for them to correct a email if put in incorrect!!And please tell your staff that when a member is bringing a issue to their attention that they need to be attentive and respectfully listen and respond with courtesy and understanding, not act self centered and stand there as if you only have 1brain cell in their head !! I’d be rather ashamed having staff that acted in this manner and you should be able to understand why people are leaving angry reviews. DO BETTER!!

For about two years, I have been attending Barre classes with Noelle as the professional, highly trained instructor. It is because of Noelle that I have been able to continue and participate in class. She modified the ballet positions, so that I am not in pain. I stand differently then everyone else in class-but who cares!Ruth

I did work here a long time ago, and met my husband here so I'm biased. Love the walnut creek Y, the childcare staff are amazing. They really look after my kid and knew his name after 1 visit. The weight room does need different machines. Some things that should adjust, don't. Some equipment isn't used often, some typical gym equipment isn't here. Pretty mediocre weight room, but we make it work.

There's an older gentleman that works here that seems to always have his hand on younger people's shoulders when talking to them, though he does not know them. The unnecessary familiarity is both odd and disconcerting. One time I witnessed the same worker upset over an incident upstairs and, when a female coworker tried to intervene, he pushed her out of his way. I told her she should file a complaint but she said she was okay, though something like that would never fly in any other workplace. I had also witnessed on multiple occasions behaviors and interactions in the men's locker room that I believe required law enforcement because the ymca staff on the premises at that time did not feel comfortable to deal with it. Their policy entails filing an "incident report" that goes into a filing cabinet never to be seen again. This location should be looked at more closely by law enforcement. Being the ymca and with the family clientele and swim programs they do not want to draw any attention.
