The Amelia Earhart Hangar Museum in Atchison, Kansas, is a beautiful and well-maintained museum dedicated to the aviation pioneer. It features captivating and interactive history and STEM exhibits, with many hands-on learning activities and interactive displays that are informative and fun, including a virtual reality plane. The heart of the museum is "Muriel," the last surviving Lockheed Electra 10-E, identical to Amelia's aircraft. The museum shares interesting stories about Amelia Earhart's life and groundbreaking achievements, along with the history of flight and the role of women. It is family-friendly with a great gift shop, reasonable prices, and plenty of parking. The staff are super nice, friendly, professional, and welcoming. Visitors find it a must-do destination that exceeds expectations.
The museum is pretty cool, most of the exhibits were interactive! Your teen might be a little underwhelmed, but younger ages will love it. The “flight simulation” isn’t worth the extra cost imo.

We took our 7 month and 3.5 year old and they both really enjoyed it! The museum is beautifully done, very modern and clean. Lots of details and information regarding Amelia’s history. Very fun pretend plane for littles and the virtual reality flight simulator was neat, my 3.5 enjoyed that too! Highly recommend.
