The Clinton Store is a longtime country store with a small dining room serving solid, hometown style food. The establishment is over 90 years old and looks it, but do not be turned off by its condition. The food is excellent country food, with raving reviews from locals. Menu highlights include a very large and tender chicken-fried steak with a crispy coating, served with homemade mashed potatoes and lightly peppered white gravy. The catfish fillets are fresh and well-made. Meals come with a basic salad featuring homemade dressing and homemade rolls. The peanut butter pie is delicious and large enough to share. Portions are generous and could feed two people. The staff is friendly and treats customers like close friends. However, the dining room has limited room and can get busy with a brisk takeout business, so it is advised to come early before items sell out. It is not a cheap meal, but the quality is a step above other chains. Overall, it is a fun, welcoming place with the best food.
Very friendly and helpful service. We were able to grab a couple of grocery items and firewood on the way to Clinton Lake.

Great little store and restaurant. Taco’s on Thursday, Gizzard’s Friday night, Steak on Sat. Sometimes we get down here and just need a night off from cooking. This place never disappoints!
