We had dinner there. They need to build on. Not enough room. The food was great. I felt sorry for the 1 waiter. Doing it all.

Our first time in this establishment and we were treated like close friends. We had the Gizzard dinner (amazing) real mashed potatoes and gravy. Topped off with a delicious peanut butter pie. By the way, it's enough to share.

We had the chicken fried steak and the catfish. Both were excellent. They both came with a basic salad, with homemade dressing. The mashed potatoes were homemade and were topped in a lightly peppered white gravy. The Chicken fried steak was very large (about size of adult hand) and ~1" thick with a very crispy fried coating. There was no grizzle and it was very tender. Overall, the best chicken-fried steak I've had in decades -- this very much a step above the mess at Crackle Barrel. The catfish included two boneless fillets and they appeared to be freshly made and not frozen/pre-breaded. Tasted like they were fried in fairly fresh and hot oil, and not over cooked (spent my teen years working in a catfish restaurant in the Deep South, and these were made well). Don't be turned off by the store's condition, its over 90 years old and looks it (think exposed studs and spare parts laying around in the restroom). The food is solid country food. Come early as they have a brisk takeout business and by 6pm were out of the other menu items. Not cheap (nothing is right now), dishes were $16 ea, but could feed two people if not starving. We got there too late, and they were out of the homemade rolls normally included with dinner.

It's not a camping trip unless we visit the Clinton Store! We've been going for decades. Everyone is so friendly, we love that they added the resteraunt - a welcome break from cooking and really good hometown style food. So close for little things we've forgotten and it's just plain fun to go say, "hi!"

OMFG this place has the best food ever. 80% of the food they serve is the best I ever had. You cannot go wrong here. You would never guess by the looks of the place, but their salad is fancier than Olive Gardens. The staff/service has always been great too.

We sat at the counter and got to watch our food being prepared. Talk about hot and fresh! Chicken fried steak came on a platter with a roll and nice salad on the side.
