“You can always find something to read in Half Price Books. I was looking for a specific book and they did not have it at one store. They found it at another store that was on my way home. The staff is always helpful and they love their work. It is not flashy and doesn't have a coffee shop but you can find books on almost any subject.”

“Such a wonderful bookstore with very friendly service! Classic titles in many different subjects. Neat, relaxing spaces in which to browse and read. Chill vibe from both patrons and the space. “It is not as large as other B&N stores in the KC area but has a good book selection. It also has a coffee shop that sells Starbucks items and drinks. It is not as full featured as a full Starbucks. It does have a small seating area next to the coffee shop that is not part of the coffee shop that I have not seen in other B/N stores in the KC area.”
“Cory, the owner, was an absolute joy. She cares about black and brown experiences shared through books. KC is known for its food and bar scene, but BLK + BRWN proves that there is a safe and necessary space for those who love to think, use their imagination, and form community through the love of reading. “Half priced books is the best, because it has the vibes of an old school bookstore. But it also has board games and video games.
My favorite is the space towards the front where they keep collectors/rare/specialty books. That's where I found the goosebumps and CYOA that I bought.”
“Adding context to my review, I appreciate how helpful Tim (I believe was the name) was in setting up a pull list, explaining the process to me. Tim (again, hoping that name is right) even called me about 10 minutes after I left to get clarification on my chicken scratch variant cover requests. Very satisfied with both B Bop locations but boy howdy this one being down the road from work is going to cost me a pretty penny.”
