The folx who work here have amazing suggestions and are happy to help even when it’s out of their depth or not their usual genre. They also have local artists goods for sale, which i always love to see. An amazing local store that we’re lucky to have in KC!”

“This is a super chill wine bar that happens to sell books. They have a small but well-curated selection of new releases, as well as some bookish merch. There's a local author section too.
I brought my own book and found a comfy armchair to drink an excellent sauvignon blanc. Definitely a good way to end my day.”

“Turnsol Books was such a wonderful find! If you love independent bookstores, this one is absolutely worth the stop. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, and the store has a great selection across all kinds of genres. Everything is well organized, making it easy to browse while still leaving room for those fun, unexpected discoveries.
and let's be honest... the bookstore cats deserve a special mention. There's just something magical about browsing the shelves while a fluffy cat rubs against your leg asking for attention. It made the whole experience even more charming.
The books were in great condition, the prices were very reasonable, and the atmosphere made me want to stay and explore for hours.
This was one of my favorite bookstore stops, and I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Kansas City. Highly recommend!”
“One of my favorite locations. I really enjoy the two floors and open design to the mall. I just wish they had a bigger Bible selection. We, personally buy bibles on a yearly basis (needed for our kids schools) it's definitely busy enough... I'd easily give 5 stars if we didn't have to sometimes go elsewhere. Regardless, I'm still a loyal customer.”

They have my pull list and the owner frequently adds comics that based on his knowledge of my tastes he thinks I will like. 99.9% of the time he gets it right and I appreciate it because it expands my comic universe some.”
