“I really like all the Dollar Tree locations. I usually stop in for a drink & a snack. I also pick up items for home. And occasionally I will purchase items u can use, for work. So many items, to use, for so many needs. I will usually get by, before visiting Walmart.”
“I love this store you can really find some good bargains. I must admit the one in Kansas City by Oak Park Mall is much better than the one in Topeka. It is also bigger and been there longer. I still have hope for the Topeka store.”
“My favorite people in the world !! Love them. Store is amazing always nice and clean very strong collection of items, always got whatever I need. I’m sure they will have what you need Great people, great store. Check them out”
“This five below was one of the best that I've seen lots of things to choose from the staff was really friendly I was chatting up with the customers and whatever asking if they needed help I'd go back there again”
“They had products I didn't see at the other stores. The store was a bit messy from the last time I came here. The cashier was very friendly, I forgot her name tho.”
“Oh my goodness this is the best Dollar Tree! From the day it opened and we were there til now. Great service 99 percent of the time and an awesome team there right now. Managers are on site and helpful. Miss Betty and Thomas are my personal favorites and they keep me spending money here. Good job Dollar Tree!!”
“It's a great place for art supplies, candy, gifts, and electronic gizmos. The place can be a mess, but it's not necessarily their fault. As a lot of retail stores seem to have children come in all ages, and just throw things everywhere.”
“Love, love, love TJ Maxx! Great prices and selection, but be sure if you like something to get it when you see it. Their prices are so good the item is usually gone when you return!”
“Very friendly! I always get greeted with a smile. A lot of choices at this particular store. And dog friendly!!!!!! Thank you, dollar general for being just two minutes from me.”
“The quality of the items are good for the price. And you can get almost everything you need for your house except furniture. Only thing the price is not just $1.00 anymore. More like $1.50 and $1.75.”
“Best experience at a Dollar Tree in a long time! When one gets used to, sadly, waiting an unreasonable amount of time in line at Dollar Tree, experiencing a store with not only friendly employees who are obviously having fun (creating a positive experience for shoppers), but also a higher employee ratio to customers?! Now THAT is a surprising joy. More stores should take a hint from them. HIGHLY recommend this location!!!”
“You can’t beat the prices! Great spot for party supplies, snacks, and quick household items. Store was clean and organized, and staff were friendly. Always fun to see what hidden gems pop up on the shelves!”
“5 stars! Great store, fantastic prices, and excellent customer service. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the place is clean and organized. Highly recommend!”
“This location was so well put together and so clean. But the cashier was a bit shy or she was ignoring me on purpose when I kept on saying hello; especially since she was staring me down . Don’t know how to feel about that .”
“We often go to Dollar Tree because they usually have many useful household items.I really liked this particular Dollar Tree because some of their home decor items, especially the wall hangings, wall mirrors, wooden jewelry boxes, stickers, beads, ribbons & similar items, reminded me of Hobby Lobby. They also have a nice selection of stationery items. I especially liked the Jot brand products, which are great for keeping on an office desk. And what can I say about the kids’ toys! Even as an adult,I was so attracted to them. They had doctor and dentist kits, miniature characters, books, pens, pencils, crayons, tiaras, colorful pinwheels, and so many other things. Also they have some newborn care items. They also have many wonderful kitchen items. I especially liked their plates, bowls, kitchen towels, glass jars & the potholders looked really cute. The bath mitts and baskets were also very nice. Their travel accessories are useful too, especially the neck pillows. They also have clothes hangers.A long time ago,i bought over the door fabric hangers from another Dollar Tree branch & they're still serving me well. However, I did feel that some items were bit pricey.Overall,i really enjoyed shopping there.”
“Just went into Dollar Tree and had the best experience because of Beverly, our cashier. She was so engaging and positive that the women behind chatted as well. Beverly sure knows how to make a store in the middle of this city feel like a small town friendly atmosphere. Thanks Beverly, I’m from out of town. You’re the best!!!!”
“Amazing experience with Mrs Sheryl today at the Dollar tree. I called first and she was beyond helpful, kind and willing to check on availability of balloons for me for our Graduation ? party. Then when we arrived she greeted us with the best smile and went above and beyond to help us purchase 15 plus balloons(as well as several others great finds ?)...her and her teammate enthusiastically blew up all those balloons without an ounce of annoyance with the time is took to get them all done. The store was clean, organized and well stocked. We drove across town to shop there and will do so again because of the kindness and professionalism we experienced there today. Kindness is free and it was nice to see employees liking their jobs and extending such great service to their customers. Way to go Sheryl, Francis, George and the Dollar tree. Keep up the great work!”
“Always get good customer service here and compared to many of the other dollar trees in the area this always have the most inventory. The manager Chris is very knowledgeable, patient, and courteous. Good place to take your family for odds and ends, I recommend this location if dollar tree is your thing”
“I get gas and go to Walmart right next to them. First time in the store and what's surprised at how much stuff they had. Was very happy with the store will be coming back again.”
“Shoutout to Luis. During the rush of the last weekend before Christmas, he was cashiering, blowing up balloons, and helping people in the self checkout. All the while he seemed upbeat and friendly.”
“Huge turn around within the past year!!! I came by the other day and was pretty amazed at how cleaned and stocked it was. I’m talking ab organized isles with price labels in visible areas so you don’t have to assume or guess what it is! Definitely a mode example (:”
“I came early this morning, the cashier was not at the register, so I rang the bell and she arrived a bit rude, to which I didn't pay much attention. I know they are busy, they had a lot of people in the store and were organizing merchandise. What really left me wanting to return was the manager's action. She was overly kind and sweet, she apologized in a very nice and professional way, she truly values her job and deserves the best”
“Ginger is amazing. Kind, thoughtful, helpful! Our family shops there more often because of her and her amazing staff. Well done! So happy to have dollar general in our neighborhood!?”
“Busy place! The wait hasn't ever been very long. I find more than I need and always what I'm looking for, including balloons. Kayleigh is a delight, and I'm so happy to have met her twice. 💗 I miss that Saul is there! Both of them, especially Kayleigh, attached to my heart, even a year or more later.”
“What a great store. And the employee Joey with the red hair was so super helpful and nice. He made my whole shopping experience better. I wish he could teach my sons to be like him. I love this place even more”
“I don't ever leave reviews but I wanted to say that Rosie here is seriously such a joy and brightened my day! She went above and beyond for me, the people before me and even after me too! ?”
“This dollar general is absolutely amazing!! And I believe the person who helped me out was named cameron? Carmen? But they were absolutely amazing, So knowledgeable, And you could tell they knew that store like the back of their hand. Out where I live in johnson county, The dollar tree stores are a mess, and They may have some good deals here and there, but for the most part, It's almost so hectic, that It's not worth going. This place was the exact opposite of that!! It was so well organized, In the amount of stuff that had to pick from, Not just food wise, but everything you can think of From home goods to decoration to cleaning Even pillows, rugs In gardening stuff et cetera! Everything was so organized and well stocked! There is a reason that this place is number one across the board. GO CHECK THIS PLACE OUT!!”
“Y’all their craft section is STACKED and there’s some good stuff in the $5 section as well, like a 15-pack of those felt hangers. Fairly well organized and much better stocked than the Dollar Trees in KC.”
“Good store .. organized especially the worker named Crystal she was very helpful in helping me find things she was very nice and respectful need more workers there like her i will be back again”
“I was in the store this morning. I've not been in this Dollar General in many years. The store is very clean and organized. I was able to get make-up and nail stuff WITHOUT having to track down an employee. I say that because so many retailers now, the make-up and nail products are locked up, and you have to track down an employee. According to my receipt my cashier was Toubal. She was super sweet and nice! She asked me if I had a coupon. Since my total was over $25 and its Saturday, Dollar General uses coupons for this type of transaction. Toubal grabbed a coupon. The first two coupons didn't scan. The third one did. Thank you Toubal! I will definitely be back!”
Burlington Stores is giving its locations a major makeover. The off-price retailer has already transformed about half of its 1,115 stores and plans to complete the redesign across its entire fleet by the end of 2026. The company calls this makeover "Store Experience 2.0." Gone are the cramped aisles and confusing layouts that once defined discount shopping. Instead, Burlington is creating wider walkways, organized sections, and clearer signs to help shoppers find what they need.
Dollar General is adding more of its private label food offerings to stores, following similar moves by big retailers like Walmart and Amazon as store brands keep growing in popularity. The store is launching new items under its own labels, including ice cream, cinnamon rolls, coffee syrups, and salad dressings. The move comes as store brand sales reached $271 billion in 2024, up nearly 4% from 2023.
Daiso, the beloved Japanese retailer known for its variety of affordable household goods, is expanding further in the U.S. market. On Saturday, Aug. 10, Daiso debuted an 8,000-sq.-ft. location in Beaumont, Texas, at Dowlen Towne Center, as well as two Southern California stores - a 6,319-sq.-ft. space in Van Nuys at Mid Valley Marketplace and a 5,200-sq.-ft. store in Westminster at Westminster Center.
Dollar Tree is moving into 170 former 99 Cents Only stores, marking a big shift in the discount retail landscape. The company announced Wednesday it's taking over leases in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Texas, with plans to reopen the stores under its own brand as early as fall 2024.
Ollie's Bargain Outlet just landed a great deal of its own, winning a $14.6 million bankruptcy auction for 11 former 99 Cents Only store locations across Texas. The discount retail chain pounced after 99 Cents Only abruptly went out of business in March, shuttering all 371 of its stores in California, Arizona, Texas, and Nevada. Ollie's quickly made an opening "stalking horse bid" to grab over a dozen of the empty properties.
