“Tabletop is the GOAT of game stores in Kansas City. At 53 years old I've seen the store in 4 different locations and watched it grow over the years. When it comes to game stores its certainly a Kansas City legend and if you've never been there you should.We'll start with the store part. If you can't find the game you're looking for here you probably aren't going to find it anywhere. Their selection of games is vast, and easily the largest selection in all of the city. Everything from roleplaying, wargaming, collectible card gaming, board gaming, and everything else gaming in between can be found here. If you're a tabletop gamer you could easily spend hours in those isles just looking at games.Now let's talk about their gaming area where you can play games. Its large and easily one of the largest in KC. As for private rooms, they have more of those than anywhere else in the city. If your game group craves a private room this is the place to be. Next door they've added a game Cafe which is sort if a separate place and offers some nice food and drink options while gaming. The combination of the two places really makes this a tabletop gamers paradise.When it comes to the staff they are also great. They know the store and the games within them and they care about getting customers games they're gonna love. However know that at any time of day here there's a lot of customers in and out those doors. This can cause the staff to be very busy with questions and business which leaves them less chit chat time than some other game stores. They're always super friendly, they just don't always have the time to chat it up with any one person for long.At the end of the day all I have to say about Tabletop Game and Hobby is that you totally should go here. This will be the greatest game store you'll ever step foot in.”

I have learned so much and I love this place, the classes and the teachers. I felt confident enough to buy a new sewing machine this last May. “This is an awesome game store that also has plenty of table room to play games as well as some food and drink options to keep your belly happy.Store wise they have a great selection of games but are more angled toward card and miniature games. So if you come here looking for a wide selection of board games you may be disappointed. That being said though, their selection of miniature games as well as painting and modeling supplies is top notch and I might even say one of the best in the city. Their card game selection is also great featuring some of the best and most popular collectible card games out there.As for tabletop space to play games they have a LOT of room. Possibly more tables and room than any other game playing business in the city and that includes some of the "gaming bars" across the city that focus on being able to host lots of players.The food and drink options were not something I expected at a game store really so I was pleasantly surprised. Yes they have the regular sodas and chips vending machines that some other game stores have but they also have some hot, fresh cooked, options like pizza. While it may not be the best pizza you've ever eaten, its frozen pizza from an oven, its still tasty, cheaply priced, and you can buy and get it right there in store without disrupting your game. Its an option that few game stores out there offer and makes them kind of a blend between a game store and game bar.Lastly we'll talk about the store clerks. They are very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. They truly make you feel welcome and like one part of a big geeky family. Its obvious they care about their customers and the games they sell.At the end of the day, The Geekery is certainly a game store that should be on your radar and visited. Particularly if your a fan of collectible card or miniature games or are in need of a table for you and your friends to enjoy a game on.”

“Stopped in today while I was in town for work. Wow, what a great shop! As a scratch builder, I have been looking for a shop like this for a long time. There are plenty of detail parts and kits that are hard to find elsewhere. Doc greeted me at the door and graciously gave me a tour of his layout. One of the best things I purchased today was a set of engineering drawings from the Missouri Pacific Railroad. I’m looking forward to incorporating these into my layout. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in town.”

“I walked in and was greeted immediately by the two people out in front. These people were kind and knowledgeable. I asked what they had in stock, and they showed me and explained all of their items. They were happy to let me look and hold the cards in the glass case. I was impressed by some of the cards they had for sale. They told me that they used TCGPlayer and assured me that I would be getting a fair price. Upon inquiry of appraising cards, they both told me of various ways I may get my card valued, and they even offered to confirm certain attributes of my card. All in all, great service, great selection, and the personnel were invested in the customer and happy to help.”

“These folks are terrific! This is a small family owned business but, they have anything you need for your flag pole or other flag and patriotic needs. They have been in business for decades. This is a hidden gem.in Shawnee, KS. If it relates to flags and they don't have it, they can probably get it.”

I went here recently for an in-store pick up and I didn't see a sign to do it without employee assistance as it was tucked away to the right of the entrance. Either I was completely oblivious to it or there was no signage. However, they have the online pickup also near the registers but that isn't self-help. Kind of confusing for someone that might be in a rush but thankfully the store was slow and the employee assisted me. She was super friendly and did great. I will definitely be back to this location again!”

“I have lived in Shawnee for a while and didn't know about this store. I saw an ad on Facebook for the Doll Craddle and decided to check it out. The store is amazing so many cool dolls and Barbies. I felt like a little girl again. The owner was also very friendly. Will definitely be back!”

“Drove a couple hours to get to Hobby Lobby to get DMC floss and stitching supplies. It is too bad that there is not a Hobby Lobby in Southeast Kansas for the rural residents of the State. I'm certain that the residents in the surrounding counties would flock to the store and keep it busy. I can go to Kansas City and Wichita and find a Hobby Lobby every few miles.”

“I love this store! Unlike many other craft and hobby stores in the area, this one is well organized, well stocked, and clean! To add to that, the employees are awesome. The sales cannot be beat. I went in today, 5 days before Christmas and all Christmas items were already 60% off! They offer bonuses to teachers in addition to their usual coupons and ads, and coupons are stackable! This Michael's location is my absolute favorite for many reasons, but it truly is the cream of the crop compared to nearby competitors.”

“Full disclosure I'm not a frequent shopper at craft stores and I tend to visit when I have something very specific in mind that I need to pick up. On this occasion, I was on the hunt for some fake foliage for centerpieces at an upcoming party. When I walked in, it was as if nothing had changed in the five years or so since I'd last visited. It had that same craft store smell, the same layout, and much to my delight the same outrageous sales happening all over the store. I was able to snag a ton of fall themed foliage at quite the steal of a price, which was a welcome surprise. I never like how they try to sell you on a credit card a checkout but that's somewhat par for the course at big box stores these days. At any rate, I was in and out pretty fast and would return next time I need something like this in the future.”
