“I live in Texas and ordered a pair of Anderson Bean Ostrich boots online from Nigro's. I had some questions about them and everyone I talked to on the phone was very pleasant. I also had a custom request where I needed the boot straps dyed a different color. Most stores would have told me "no way," but David Nigro, Jr. was happy to dye them for me before shipping out. I got them today and they are beautiful boots, exactly as expected. I will definitely be back to buy more boots in the future!”

“We love Kristina and the store because they care enough about the customer to keep things fresh, new, interesting, and plentiful! The store is vibrant and buzzing with energy all the time! But the best time is if you're shopping for something related to Hometown Spirit or local team love. They have entire rooms of Royals and Chiefs merch, but there's also things for ku, k-state, lots of local high schools, including some of the private Catholic schools which is kind of challenging stuff to come by unless you are buying directly from a booster club! I challenge anyone to walk in the store and not walk out buying something. If anything I think it can feel a little overwhelming to people because there's so many cool things. But that's also a really good thing because this means there is no one and nothing like this store in the Kansas City area. You're going to want to go out of your way to drive over here, Trust me. Bring the birthday list and the whole Christmas list. You're welcome.”
“Took our son here for jeans, a belt, a hat and shirts. He's super skinny, so we've had a bear of a time finding good jeans that fit him, but Rachael had him all fixed up in no time with items that were priced competitively, yet were good quality duds and got him the look that he wanted. In addition, it's great to support a local company that has everything we want and a super friendly and helpful sales staff. Highly recommend the folks at Nigro's over some chain store.”

If you have ever had dressing-room-dread, this will be a healing place for you. On my most recent visit they did not have the exact jacket I needed so they showed me how to contact Carhartt directly. They were willing to give up a sale to get me just what I wanted. That is why I will go back again and again. I ended up buying the hiviz instead of the black because I was so impressed. Well done.”

“MADI is a high-quality shop with a heart-driven mission and one of my favorite spaces to spend time in Kansas City, when I used to live there. The owner welcomed me in by letting me know the shop is based on the premise of making a difference. Everything the store was based on was a manifestation for me to have found: organic clothing, pure plant dyes, devotion to proper pay for people. MADI is a gem, and I shop their online store now since I live in Florida. Their purpose deserves above-and-beyond gratitude. I have two pairs of their silk shorts! This shop is the best!”

“1st time here. Was happy it was open on a Sunday afternoon. Staff were friendly. 4/5 stars for no bugy/baskets-asked if we could pile items on counter while we continued to shop but we're only offered a canvas bag that didn't meet our needs, so we ended up spending only $200 vs the $2k we budgeted (was buying a few items for ourselves and planned to buy to donate the remainder) the franchise owner, Claudia and her daughter were very nice & familiar with brands/pricing.”

“Last week I ordered a cute Salaam flippy skirt from Shopgirls. It turned out I needed a smaller size and called Katie to see what other colors she had and I explained that I had to watch hem length so the Velcro in my AFO brace doesn’t tear my clothes.
Instead of just exchanging my skirt Katie asked me to drop by the store before regular hours. When I arrived, she had skirt and dress options hanging all around the dressing rooms for me to try. I was like a kid in a candy store.
Katie knew that I was trying to make peace with my new foot accessory and rather than dwell on that she brought the focus to
the lovely colors of the cute swirly skirts and I was able to find several options that would work. One of the pieces was a dress that was very easy to put on, and I called Katie to see if she had more of those. This time rather than having me come into the store, she delivered the dress to my house.
Shopgirls isn’t just a storefront at 62nd and Oak filled with clothes, and purses and accessories. Shopgirls is a home to all of us who are welcomed at the door and who are buoyed by acceptance and sisterly inclusion as we touch and feel the lovely frocks, shoes and jewelry around us. Shopgirls sends us out the door with our ribbon tied bags of goodies and a renewed confidence. None of us leaves there without having felt the most prized item in the store, the sincere kindness of Katie and her Shopgirls.”

The moment I entered your store I was greeted with a friendly smile & was asked if I was looking for something in particular. I could tell that these ladies enjoyed helping their customers. All three of the ladies assisted me in some way or another, from seeing if they had what I initially was looking for, to handing me dresses she thought I may like while in the changing room which I did find a dress I'm absolutely happy with. I must say they completely turned around my negative experience I had @ the previous store! I appreciated your great customer service!”

“I have been coming here since I was in high school. I recently got into records and have never really thought of this place as being a record store but now it's a must when thrifting vinyl. I came around a $10 Fleetwood Mac record and haven't snatched something up so fast before. I absolutely love how friendly the staff is and all the funky and beautiful art, clothing and gifts this place has. It's a one stop shop on a Saturday for me.”

“Yesterday I shopped at the cutest boutique, Addie Rose. I love their unique styles and sizes for not only the lucky who are 5’5 and over but also 5’2 littles like myself. The sales associate , who happens to be the manager, Megan, was very friendly, and took the time too help me find exactly what I was looking for my event. The stylist at my favorite boutique, Frankie & Jules, recommended that I visit this “neighbor” boutique. This says a lot to me that a boutique speaks highly of another. And from my understanding the admiration goes both ways. “Best boutique workout studio in Kansas City I absolutely love pure barre workouts because they are challenging and also, remind me of my dance background. But, don't be intimidated, they are great even if you've never danced before and just want a workout that will lift tone and burn! All the instructors are knowledgeable and super encouraging.
