“STRANDED. On a 3-day holiday weekend. I was a driving a Ford F350 diesel truck to Grand Junction, CO, 4 hours further than Denver. The transfer case went out just outside of Salina, KS. I parked it for the weekend in a hotel parking lot, then drove it to Central Plains Diesel & Repair as soon as they opened on Tuesday morning. I was greeted and immediately attended to. Dan, the owner, is friendly, respectful, and knew his crew would do all they could to get my truck up and running. The mechanic that worked on my truck is David, and the Shop Manager is Adam, who makes sure everything gets done right, and on time. David took the time to explain the problem and offered options on repairs. He was honest with his knowledge, and skillful in his work. He tested the part before and after he installed it. It wasn't quite perfect so he ordered a new seal for the transfer case, tested it again, and sent me down the road that very evening. I highly recommend Central Plains Diesel & Repair. “I was far from home, working remotely and picked up a large diameter bolt stuck right through the tread. I made it into their shop asked them for a repair with no prior purchases. They promptly repaired the tire then proceeded to tell me they perform flat repairs for free. I fully expected to pay for the service since I had never purchase anything from this store ... nope, they happily fixed the tire without any hesitation. That's customer care right there.”

“Last week my car was breaking down when I was on a solo road trip from KC to Colorado and my friend told me to go to the nearest O'Reilly and this was the closest one to me. Every employee on staff specifically, Reid and Ron, went out of their way to help me and I'll never forget them! I was there probably 7 hours and they helped me find a mechanic nearby, Keith's Towing, who was just as friendly as the employees inside. They let me wait inside for a ride to charge my phone while I was an emotional wreck and I'm so grateful for the hospitality and lending hands I experienced that day!!!!!! 5 star staff at this location. “We were traveling across Kansas with our truck and travel trailer when we decided to stop at a rest stop. When we started the truck back up we got a warning that there was a problem with the connection to the trailer. We disconnected the trailer, cleaned the contacts and still had the warning. All the lights still worked and as far as we could tell the trailer brakes were working . We looked up in the trucks owner’s manual and it just said to see a dealer.
So after spending 2+ hours at the dealer and not finding anything wrong with the truck, they referred us to Lorenson Industries. It was after 5 o’clock but they answered their phone. Told us that they could get us in three days later. ? We were only planning to spend one night in Salina, KS. After some more discussion they said we could come in first thing in the morning and they would look for any obvious problem but they wouldn’t have time for anything more than that.
So we arrived at 8:10 am the next morning and they got us in right away. In less than 20 minutes they found 2 broken wires leading to the rear drivers side brake on our trailer. All was fixed and we were back on the road in less than an hour! Thank you Kent Lorenson for squeezing us into your busy day. We truly appreciate it!!”

“Bought two u-joints for my driveshaft. When I was installing them I missed one up. Part was (moog 270). Called this store they had one and saved it for me. Son stopped after work to pick it up, got home and was installing it, to small. The girl couldn't find the saved one so went back and got another one. But wrong one, part (moog 280) ? The bearing part was the same so luckily it worked out and didn't have to drive back to town. Between the one I missed up and the wrong one I made a good one, lol. People should ask what it's for and look it up to double check...?”

“Had a slight emergency on our first day of travel, as we were traveling through Kansas, in that a corner of our tonneau cover broke, on the way to Utah. Pulled in and the owner successfully helped us fix the issue! Didn't get his name but we truly appreciate him! He wouldn't take any money, but we insisted! Cudos!”
