ADT has some very questionable business practices. We have been trying to cancel service and all they will do is send us a new less expensive contract to sign.... they hung up on my husband when he told them we did not want a new contract, we need to cancel the service.

My mother went into a nursing home 5 months ago I returned the equipment and canceled the service and they are still charging her a monthly fee. After multiple calls they always say they're going to fix it but they don't. Beware this is a very shady company that takes advantage of the elderly

I would never go back to this company. I canceled my account because I sold my house and they are going to charge me over $700 because I didn’t fulfill my contract??? It doesn’t matter that I moved in with my elderly mother to help take care of her and she happens to have a ADT as well. I am being penalized when it’s impossible to transfer my service. How much sense does that make?

Very shady business practices. They informed me about a installation cost. Which was up front. However when the installer came out I was informed of a $323 activation cost. I called around and most of the companies also required this fee. ADT was $80 higher. But they were doing the installing. So I went with ADT. I really needed the service and they were already here. I am satisfied with the equipment and the installer went above and beyond. Great guy. Everything was going well until I woke up this morning to see my account was charged and additional $54.44. What the heck. I didn’t authorize that. So I called to find out what the extra charge was for. “oh that’s your monthly bill.” What!!! my service just started yesterday. “yes you pay a month in advance to us. “ What??? Never have I been with a company that I had to pay a month in advance. $323 is not a drop in the bucket and I didn’t have the extra $54.44. They literally took money from a different company that I owe. Now I have to ask for a two week extension from the other company because ADT decided to rob my bank account. Ugh. Nothing worse than signing a contract with a money hungry company. And it’s for three years. Worst purchase ever.

I was told multiple different answers . Stood up two times with appointments . Customer service is terrible . I have taken off twice from work just to be told they didnt have me on the schedule. The price has changed twice . Now I have to wait another week or so to be installed.

So dissatisfied with the whole process and service. The day the system was installed the rep took 8+ hours to install all items. I had to call back the next day because the door sensors kept going off-not told about any home visit fees at that time, and rep had to move all sensors on doors...set too close to the doors. Also at the time of install I set up 4 monthly installment payments to pay for the system-the funds were not taken out on the day scheduled. I sent an email without a response.. then I receive a call about my account being past due. The representative I spoke to on the phone was so RUDE and would not answer WHY the information I had already set up wasn't used. Less than one month later the sensor falls off the door (stuck with double sided tape) frame, I call into ADT again and they mail me a package with double sided tape and screws. We use the screws and anchor it securely and it works fine a couple of weeks.....then somehow the sensor gets "off" again and starts going off every time you open or close the door. I call ADT AGAIN and ask to have someone come out...now there is a 25 fee associated with this ...which the rep states she waived with mgr approval and makes notes in the work order. Technician shows up today and right off the bat is not pleasant...and big surprise had to replace the unit and call in to someone to get the tamper alert to go away...oh yeah....and fee was not waived as promised. So at this point the sales rep and everyone I have talked to on the phone have straight lied.

I called to cancel my account. I did not explain the entire situation, because it is complicated and personal. When I agreed to a long term contract I had every intention of staying where I was, but sometimes life does the unexpected. I have been informed I either pay the $1600 to get out of the contract or continue paying the next four years for a service I will not use. I am thankful for the other places that I had contracts with for being much more understanding and allowing me out of those.

We are now on day 10 and are without security or answers from ADT. I have made more than 20 calls and have been sent from 1 person to the next. It's never a consistent answer and they can never let me talk to the supervisor. It is promises that I will receive a call back within 72 hrs. The lady today says I should get a call back on Monday, but if I don't to call back then to try again on Tuesday. The problem is in the mean time if we have an emergency we have no security. Our experience has been a nightmare from day 1. They sent 2 technicians to our home, and of the 2 only 1 knew what he was doing and could answer our questions. They were at our house for 8 hours but were unable to complete the installation during that time. The next day ADT charged my husband's debit card and credit card at the same time and the duplicate charges were not even for correct amount. The following day the same 2 technicians returned to our house where they spent another 7 hours trying to install the cameras. Actually, 1 guy worked while the other guy slept in the car. Again after a total of 15 hours our equipment STILL does not work. They told my husband they would extend their 3 day cancellation policy to 30 days due to the problems encountered and the fact that our security system was still not complete. At this point I'm super upset and losing sleep due to no security at our house. I have spent over 5 hours on the phone with multiple staff members at ADT with no resolution. Yesterday I was promised that the local service manager from Wichita would be out today between 9am and 3pm. Unfortunately that was also a lie. Instead they sent 2 other technicians to our home and they were there for 3 hours. Yes you guessed it, our equipment STILL DOES NOT work. I was given the supervisor's direct number and left 3 very detailed messages for him to return my call as soon as possible, but never received a call back. All I want is for them to pick up their equipment and refund our money so we can call another company. At this point if ADT offered to upgrade our equipment and monitor our home for free I would say no. I have lost every ounce of trust for this company. If you are looking for security, protection and a peace of mind I highly suggest you look elsewhere.

We have been with ADT for 30 plus years. We recently purchased a new home and had them come out to install a new system! Wow, how the business has changed since our last installation 19 years ago. We were very pleased with all aspects of the installation, the customer service, the timeliness of the representative and his professionalism. If, like us, you know your limits with technology, ADT will take care of everything and the services of today are not like yesterday. Highly recommend.

Installer technician was outstanding. Knowledgeable and helpful. He exhibited genuine interest in his work and in discussing our needs. Great job. Equipment is good but expensive. Most other security companies are less money.

Installation was perfect, very professional. Very personal explaining how our ADT security system works. I would rate him a 10+. The person I talked to on the phone regarding ADT was a little missleading. After he explained to me what ADT had to offer and my requirements we came to an agreement that my monthly payment would be approximately 30.00 a month. At installation we found that you had to a land line to qualify for the 30.00 a month fee which we don't have. So now we're looking at a 50.00 a month fee. That doesn't seem like much but it is when your on a fixed income. We want to keep the system... You customer service representative needs to be more informative. Thanks so much.

I ordered this service for my parents home and everything went great. The service advisor was great. He took the time and downloaded the app to help my parents use the alarm system .. Great service..

Our Tech was great! He spent a good amount of time in our home and sold us exactly what we wanted. Unfortunately, Spectrum installed internet the same day and left without it working! He is coming back on his own time to finish our cameras. Great service. My first time with a full fire, theft, panic and camera system.
