Great atmosphere and fantastic service. I ordered the Caesar salad and it was so good I ate every bite. I was so full I barely ate dinner. Looking forward to having it for lunch tomorrow!!!

The atmosphere was great, quiet and very old school feel. The server was good bit not great, I think she could have used a little more help but that was not her fault, just understaffed, extremely polite young lady. Food was honesty not very good, very dated recipes which might be because of the older venue, not much for taste at all and overpowering salt on everything. Would we go back, probably not but the experience was fun.

I ate here in the 1980s with my mom I remember it being such an elegant and special place. Maybe that was because I was just a teenager and not accustomed to anything fancier than the Western Sizzling, but it just seemed dated now and a lot sad. While clean and beautifully decorated, the service left much to be desired. The food was fine but nothing special. They used to bring out a large bowl of spoonbread as soon as you were seated and spooned it onto each guests plate as an appetizer. Now, the say they cook each to order and it actually arrived after our entrees did. We sat a full 10 minutes before anyone arrived at our table for drink orders and two tables near us couldn't get service. One gentleman actually got up and went to the hostess stand to ask for service. The other party was offered a discount or free dessert to compensate for some issue and still they had to ask the busboy for a tea refill and their check. Certainly not the special place I feel it once was. And onlY 6 tables had guests when we were there on a Saturday at noon. Around the block at an Italian place, people were waiting in line for tables.

Our experience was very positive. We had a reservation and were seated right away at a table with a pleasant street view. Our server was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered an appetizer with country ham which had good balance of flavor not overly salty from the ham. Our white wines, basic house kind of wines, paired well with the “Flakes” Chicken, signature dish of BT. For dessert we opted for the cheesecake to go as we were full. The traditional spoon bread came out toward the end of the meal. It was hot and delicious with two kinds of butter available. We would recommend BT. Other dishes servers recommended to us were the diver scallops and salmon.

I hadn't been to The Boone Tavern in years and I was not disappointed. The food was great, dining room is beautiful and the Spoon Bread, OMG.........as good as I remembered. I did however felt a bit rushed because the server kept coming over and we were visiting with family, I felt as if I needed to eat and leave..............I didn't like that part. Overall I wouldn't let that deter anyone to go and have some fabulous food.

I met friends from out of town (alum from Berea College). They were disappointed that the menu had changed and that the deep fried deviled eggs were gone and there was something else that they were looking forward to, but was removed from the menu. We didn't realize this was inauguration week for the President, so it was a little chaotic. We arrived during the big rug replacements in both rooms.

The food was just average and really over priced for the quality. The service was outstanding and they went out of their way to make the service experience great. Unfortunately the food did not live up to the service.

It took 30 minutes to get our drinks after ordering a coffee and sweet tea and this was only after alerting the hostess that we had not been greeted for 15 minutes. We were just about to walk out. Not sure what the issues were as there seemed to be plenty of servers and our server only had our 2 top and another 3-top. We chose the Easter menu and the food was not great at all! Unflavorful, unappealing, and not even tasty vegetables, lamb, and salmon croquettes. The salad and sppoonbread were the best parts of the meal. While the atmosphere is lovely and the staff is nice, $100 with tip is way too high to pay for terrible food.

Wonderful stay! Room was a little small, reflecting the age of the building, but the bed was very comfortable. Student-staff were friendly, helpful and efficient.
