This was an excellent trip to a very beautiful area. It is a shame that the state doesn’t allocate more funds to more efficiently. Maintain and update this property. The interior of the rooms were very dated but they were also very well cleaned… I just felt like I was visiting in the late 70s. The outside of the buildings was a different story. Some of the exterior panels had large holes rotted through them. The museum on the property had a small refrigerator that looked like it was out of a 1971 Winnebago being used for Keeping water bottles full. Does it really take that much to put a water fountain in a museum in a premier state park? So much potential. We will return because it is such a beautiful area.

Great small campground. Couple of nights stay and you've seen it all. No full hookups and in late September there was a burn ban so no bonfires. Site 29 flat shaded w/e but acorns were dropping like little bombs.

The dedicated staff insures a connection to the rich history of this park. They host fun events that the whole family can enjoy. They offer a clean and comfortable campground, a beautiful lodge with a fabulous dine in restaurant, cabins, playgrounds, pool, museum, walking trails, gift shop, and more. There are also shelter houses with outdoors grills. Blue Licks is a wonderful place to come for a week or come for a day and enjoy nature and historical enrichment.

The bugs are insane, so bring bug spray! We went on the licking river/heritage trail, and a good portion of the trail was walking along the highway. You got to see the licking river on this trail at a far away distance, which was disappointing.

Enjoyed our mini getaway at the lodge. Friendly-fast service checking in and out. The room was clean, had a mini fridge, and nice view from the porch. The beds are too firm for my liking tho. Lots to do around the park such as mini golf, trails, a museum to look around in, cute lil gift shop, play area for kids, and restaurant. Food was very good and all staff was helpful! We loved that Lake Carnico was 5 minutes away! We love swimming there and hanging out on the small beach. Will recommend and hope to be back soon!

Excellent staff! I stayed here immediately following a family tragedy, and they were very accommodating to both me and my dog Bella. The room was great! Very clean and quiet. I will stay again so we can check out the museum and other exhibits as soon as we can!Dog-friendliness: Amazing!!!
