Staff extremely rude, waited for over 20 mins for help with feeder goldfish. Only one staff member working and she was extremely rude and snarky! Will not ever be back! Not only extremely disappointed in the staff’s attitude but awful pet selection and dirty tanks. Talk about poor disease control. Again I will not EVER visit this store again nor make purchases online from this company. I do not support rude behavior in folks it will not be tolerated. Most importantly I do support unkept conditions and quality of care I seen at this store for the animals!

Prices are outrageous but I love the Veto that comes. My dog's shots are reasonable.

My boyfriend and his friend went in today to get a few things, the associate (heavy set, scruffy beard and towel around his neck) was down right rude and replied to my boyfriend as "one of those people." Word to the company: I understand you need to hire people but do better. Attitudes like that give customer service people bad names. There needs to be consequences for those that feel they can treat others like that.

I have no complaints. The staff are helpful and pleasant. I love that there are coupons and a rewards program to sign up for. Cool place, lots of animal varieties and needs, nice environment. For grooming, Kenzie is the BEST for our short haired 85 lb dog. She's so friendly, patient, understanding, and helpful - she's a real gem.

I just walked out of this store, and they lost business. I walk in with my niece and dog, we are browsing dog toys, we are approached by a young lady, black straight hair, wears glasses. Asked us if she could help us find anything, and I said no but later imma be needing an algae eater. She asked me if I had my ID because you have to be 18 to purchase an animal, I said yes? Kinda sorta it’s in my car? (It’s also terribly storming at this time) She then proceeds to say "okay that’s fine but you need to chill and lose the attitude” and walks away.

On preparing the puppies for a grooming washing is very good. People are very good and I recommend them to take care of your pets. For the store it's ok.

4 days ago I talked to the district manager and manager of this local in reference to them holding multiple ball pythons in 1 enclosure. I was assured something would be done about this,fast forward to today and nothing has changed. I asked the manager about it and he Said theyr waiting on approval to remove a snake from where it is not supposed to be,then his story changed to the vet says it will be okay,they have 2 crested geckos in an enclosure twice the size of the ball python enclosure underneath! Obviously nothing is going to be done....their animal care had really gone downhill recently amd they see no wrong in it! Not to mention it smells foul by their birds

I will not take my dogs to Petco for grooming anymore! My husband took our 11yr dog to get groomed with written instructions on how I wanted her cut which was hair short but not shaved, clean the ears & remove ear hair, Nails trimmed & buffed & hair removed from the paw pads & teeth brushed. My dog came out looking almost like what she did before she went in. Her explanation was my dog was too stressed out & had pooped on the table. She apparently had to go poop. This groomer said my dog has always been a problem. Her first visit was in 2018. I was NEVER told my dog was such a problem for them to groom. We have always been told she is a very good dog & sweet. Petco charged me $143 for just cutting her nails maybe a half inch of hair at the most, cut & bath with deodorizer. The same groomer told us not to bring our Golden Pyrenees back after his second groom. He is not a fan of the clippers & his paws messed with. I can understand because he is a very large dog & very stubborn. We have had his vet sedate him for his grooms from that point on. It makes me question how my dog was really treated after her first poop accident on the table. She acted very different after we got her home than she had from previous appointments at Petco. She acted depressed & not as active this time. I'm not happy with Petco Grooming servicing & will not be a repeat customer.

I visited two days ago in search of a toy for my dog and to look for a potential fish tank for my daughter. There was an alarming number of dead fish floating around in the tanks, all of the ghost shrimp (about 10 or 12) were dead in the bottom of the tank, there was one white rat that appeared to have some sort of infection in its right eye, the birds cages had not been cleaned in what appeared to be quite a while, all of the cat cages were empty thank goodness, but had overflowing mounds of soiled litter left in them, several of the beta fish were dead and below that there was a topless plastic tub about the size of a shoe box with filthy water and some sort of mossy sludge floating in it. I mentioned the large number of dead fish to the cashier and she said that she had no idea and that she would check on it. She also mentioned that the ghost shrimp always die very quickly because their pH levels are never proper in their tank. That I should come in on shipment days if I want to have healthy fish or shrimp before they ever go into the Petco tanks because otherwise they end up sick or dying quickly. I've been to this Petco multiple times in the past and have never seen it like this. It was filthy and inhumane. At this point, I would just prefer to drive to Lexington or shop online for my pets or pet products.
