“I love this place; the owners are not only fantastic at crafting the best croissants but also very approachable and kind. The cozy environment at the shop invites to relax and enjoy the little pleasures in life.”
“I absolutely adore this antique shop right in my hometown. So many unique items and I always feel so welcome when I walk in the door. The ladies working there are always so friendly. Looking forward to stopping in again soon!!! ?”
“Nice little Antique store with lots of plants that make the store feel like a living room. I didn't buy anything, but I think the items on sale are decently priced.
As a camera collector I appreciate the fact that they hat a cabinet dedicated to vintage camera. Unfortunately it didn't contain anything interesting for me.
I'll definitely come again to check out new added items”
“Stop in today. Meet the owner Michael what a wonderful person. We looked around found a vase I like and the price was right. He was very knowledgeable about his business. Worth the stop. We will definitely be back.”
“This was beyond my expectations! They worked on 2 pieces for me.
One was a hand me down from my grandmother that she had made with her sister. They restored it and upgraded it for another 50 years so my kids will be able to use it.
Second they did a piece that was given to me, meant to be a family heirloom. I had done nothing with it for a couple of years because Covid. They educated me on the best ways to preserve it and display it, which were not the most expensive options.
When I have an art need, this will be the first place I go. Fantastic and friendly the whole way through!”
“Full Disclosure: the owner is my neighbor, but that doesn't prevent me from being honest.Great place for cute stuff. In the past, I purchased a KitchenAid stand mixer that is still going strong after several years, and today's find was a Vintage Favorite Piqua Ware Scotch Bowl. I'll use it as a Dutch Oven for cooking and baking bread. It's a great cast iron piece that new on Am-z-n would cost me almost 2x more. I'd much rather support a local owned business that helps our community.”
“I haven't been here for quite awhile, and was pleasantly surprised...the quality is good, prices are affordable and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. And the Swamp Water Grill was wonderful! Drinks were huge and well priced and the food was delicious...we will definitely be back!”
“Wendy is awesome! She loves to share her wealth of information, all you have to do is ask, so much fun. I can't wait to get started, she provided me with all the confidence I needed.”
“What a pleasant surprise: the staff were friendly to me (not dismissive and hostile, and no offensive political advertising pertaining to this voting season); beautiful array of memorabilia, and nice classical music. I enjoyed my visit yesterday and I will be back!!!! Thank you”
“Excellent antique buying experience. This business is all about quality. For fine quality antique furniture, priced fairly and in tip top condition talk to Louis. Top level selection of both oak and mahogany pieces. We will be back.”

“This was my first visit and I was amazed. I was looking for bling for my upcoming runway show and boy do they have quite the selection. The prices were reasonable for what you're getting also. I wound up purchasing a bracelet, tiara, 2 pairs of earrings, a necklace and some invents. Im definitely will return.”
“I have been working with the Velvet Cricket for about 5 years. On average, I do about 1000 per month in business with them. James and the other staff go out of their way to be helpful to clients. It does take about 3 months to get money, but the truth is, that is how long the cycle takes. James is very transparent about that. For my money, I am very happy with the cricket and feel they go above and beyond. These other reviewers seem to believe that they have a full understanding of how the business should be run when their understanding is somewhat amateurish.”
“Mr. Kelly is a lovely person. We had a great time visiting with him today and shopping around his incredible antique store! Definitely make a stop in if you get the chance. You won’t regret it!”
“I am thrilled they repaired my ancient grandfather clock. It is nice to hear the clock bong again, even in the middle of the night! This is clearly a 5-star business and you can tell the people who work there love their work.”
“Astute Furnishings is a lovely shop filled with classic quality pieces, interesting accents from mid century and some with a touch of whimsy. James is very knowledgeable and a delight to work with. I suggest stopping in if you value quality antiques as well as one of a kind pieces for your home or office.”
“The owner is a well-informed and quick-witted curator of mid-century and earlier vintage items. The shop is fun to browse and popular enough that an item might get bought up by someone else if you plan to come back for it a month after visiting, so be decisive!”
“WOW!!!! Have you ever been so impressed that your jaw dropped as far open as it could and you COULD NOT close it?????? Well if you ever get the opprtunty to visit The Wooden Nickel in Beautiful DT Cincinnati you too can experience. The feeling of awwstruck.”
“Art. Real art is at Hawksworth Manor. Magnificent place!!! I loved the experience. It is a museum experience but you can actually purchase real art for yourself. Paintings, hand made rugs, and amazing art. Hawksworth Manor is off the beaten path but well worth the trip into an amazing art world that you did not know exist: an amazing experience into the world of yesterday that you can actually taste and take home and enjoy the qualities of another century. These opportunities rarely exist today.”
“This place is truly a step back in time, some much nostalgia hear! If you've never been hear before, you should def go check this place out!!!!!! 10/10 ☆'s”
