“Wow wow! What an authentic croissant! Such a lovely lady running such a beautiful and unique shop. My pain au chocolate was still warm and melty. One of my new favorite places to get a laminated pastry in Cincinnati.”

“Derek has been running the shop for 50 years. His father purchased it and then passed away and passed it down to him and his siblings. The items here are incredibly high quality and the knowledge Derek has around what he has in the shop is immense. We will absolutely visit again! There are 3 floors to look through; the main floor, the basement, and the upstairs. If you’re looking for quality antique furniture, you simply must visit this store.”

“This antique store is HUGE. we definitely needed more time than we had to walk around the whole store. Lots of unique and eclectic finds. Friendly staff and I’ll definitely be back if I’m ever in the area again!”

“I have been working with the Velvet Cricket for about 5 years. On average, I do about 1000 per month in business with them. James and the other staff go out of their way to be helpful to clients. It does take about 3 months to get money, but the truth is, that is how long the cycle takes. James is very transparent about that. For my money, I am very happy with the cricket and feel they go above and beyond. These other reviewers seem to believe that they have a full understanding of how the business should be run when their understanding is somewhat amateurish.”

“This is a pretty decent antique mall. The prices are a little high but they always have some interesting and unique stuff for sale. Definitely worth checking out if you’re a fan of vintage, retro and antique things.”

“I brought this painting of a Navy ship I was stationed on to Old World because it had a nasty puncture wound in it from when it was shipped to me several years ago. The team gave me a quote within a few days and was always quick to respond throughout the process. Job was done earlier than I expected, and I was blown away at how good it looks. They exceed all expectations. They can be trusted with things that are important to you, and they will do a great job! Thank you to the entire team there!”

“Very very 70's. They have almost exclusively pieces from 1970-1990, which are periods I am not particularly interested in, but if you are, then this is your place. One thing, everything is extremely expensive for a store like this.”

“Easily one of my favorite stops on the trip, and not just because it shares my name.
The man running the shop, Nick, was a blast to talk to. Easily spent an hour chatting about everything under the sun and made sure to purchase some wonderful retro art.
Will stop in for sure every time I'm in Cincinnati.”

“Incense, necklaces, artifacts, jewelry, and wearable magical items of many kinds.

If you’re looking for an item to give as a gift or receive for yourself, spend some time looking at the assortment of gems and adornments that Little Mahatma has in stock.

The owner is a one in a million individual who cares deeply about having the most ethically sourced hand made jewelry and sterling necklaces (amongst many other types of metals) from across the globe, all to be easily purchased here in over the Rhine.

If you’re looking for a special necklace, ring, earring, chain, or any adornment to level up your aura, this little shop has a HUGE selection of the rarest goods you would have to spend $2K on a flight to even have the chance to see being sold; like Nepal, Tibet, India, Mexico, Africa, and Indonesia just to name a few places where pieces I’ve purchased have come from.

Stop in the next time you’re looking for something small like incense, or something big like a Nepalese prayer box necklace.

“Astute Furnishings is a lovely shop filled with classic quality pieces, interesting accents from mid century and some with a touch of whimsy. James is very knowledgeable and a delight to work with. I suggest stopping in if you value quality antiques as well as one of a kind pieces for your home or office.”

“There are beautiful pieces there - he only deals with quality furnishings and the prices are reasonable. You can always find something you need or want. Enjoy the shop!
I’ve shopped there since his store was in Price Hill in the late 1990’s. You can’t beat it!”

“Great experience in buying an item from out of state and arranging for delivery. Sales experience was smooth (as was a few inquires in the weeks leading up to the purchase), and owners even helped connect us with and facilitate arrangements with a shipping company for delivery within a week.”
