“If you're looking for a great gunsmith this is your man. I took a couple of rifles to him to have serviced. The first one needed some bolt work and he said he could fix it while I waited. He worked on it for about 20-30 minutes and had it working like new. The second gun needed some custom work to remove and reshape some old style scope mounts on a wonderful old English made J Roberts and Son rifle in 416 Rigby. It would require a good bit of hand grinding and machining to form new scope base platforms that would fit this fine old gun and look appropriate to the original design. He looked it over and said no problem and he explained what he had planned and I left it with him. Expecting maybe to hear back from Richard the following week I was surprised to get a call 24: hours later informing me that the work was completed and ready to pick up. When I picked it up the work exceeded my expectations. The gun looks fantastic and is ready for a new scope. He was so nice and we sat around for a while and talked guns and hunting cape buffalo in Africa. If you have any need for a great gunsmith, give this guy an opportunity and you won't be disappointed.”
