“Love these ladies. Thorough exams, and plans for treatment. Coming from somewhere were my dogs were given too much anesthesia and not enough monitoring after. One died, one almost died.
This is office is top notch. They use advanced methods for anesthesia and recovery. My dog has had surgery here twice and walked out happy as could be after. Compared to me carrying her lifeless self out of the other place. Traumatized.

“Had to bring our rescue dog in for a rabies shot. She hadn't been to the vet in 3 years and can be triggered and aggressive in unfamiliar situations. Maggie handled our special needs dog with patience and professionalism. Maggie allowed her to get comfortable with her and when the time came for the shot you would barely know it. Thank you, Maggie, for your care of our rescue dog!”
“I've been bringing my dogs to PVVC for over 13yrs. The staff are always kind and prompt, whether I'm texting a question or bringing my dog in for a visit. When I meet with the vets and techs for an appt., they always take time to listen and gather all the information before determining a course of treatment. That's been very helpful as my dogs have gotten older and have needed more specialized care. Everyone is so kind and I know they care about my sweet old doggie as much as I do. The vets at PVVC are up to date on the latest research, so I trust my pet is getting the best possible treatment. They treat us like family and I'm very grateful. “I’ve taken Phoenix to Shelby Veterinary Clinic twice now, and both experiences have been wonderful. Everyone there has been incredibly kind, personable, and compassionate. You can tell they genuinely care about the animals they’re treating.
During her most recent visit, Phoenix received three shots, including her first rabies vaccine, as well as a dewormer. They gave her a treat while they were giving her the shots and did everything they could to keep her comfortable. Phoenix, however, had some very strong opinions about having her ears examined. 😂 She tried her best to claw her way out of that situation, but the staff handled her calmly, gently, and with so much patience.
I also really appreciated the little things, like giving her privacy when they needed to collect a stool sample. Throughout both visits, they treated her with genuine love and care rather than making the appointment feel rushed or clinical.
We’ll be moving soon, but I plan to continue bringing all of my animals back to Shelby Veterinary Clinic. It’s absolutely worth the drive when you find people you trust with your pets. Highly recommend them!”
“I have been going to this vet for a couple years now. I genuinely love the people that work here and have had the best experience! I won't deny, there was a time when I first started going that I got hassled for an overweight cat (but realistically, after taking a step back, I understand this is coming from a place of care & I wouldn't want my cat to have irreversible health issues because I wasn't well informed). BUT, I always feel listened to and feel like these people truly care about my pets as much as I do. They can be kind of expensive (most vets are tho) but I feel like it's worth the price because they go the extra mile. For example, I took one of my fur babies the other day for suspicious behavior and they've called me two days in a row to check on her. Love this place and their staff! “My visit with Dr. Thompson was excellent. I learned so much about my horse and ways to make his life healthier. My horse had cellulitis and Dr. Thompson was very thorough in educating me on how he probably got it and how to prevent it. My horse is recovering very well. I can't thank Dr. Thompson enough. I recommend him to anyone who needs an equine vet.”
