“Always a positive customer experience at this community location. The store employees there have a great attitude and always greet you with kindness. The best deals and always find something on sale.”
“Absolutely love this store the people that work here are so kind and helpful. I can always find something I like in the store and I have never been disappointed in anything I've gotten for here. This is such a great store!”
“This store is normally fully stocked. Only problem is a disagreement about pricing. Was buying a head of cabbage and the sign said it was .89/ct. I took it as .89 a head and the manager said it meant per lb. I lost the battle but still disagree.”
“We love going to Bens Bargain Center! Great prices and a huge variety of new items at low prices! Theyre always changing out what's in the store so you never know what great deal you'll find! We visit both stores when we go, as they are side by side”
“If you are looking for great deals for your family, home this store has the best sales. I love coming not only to shop but also to spend time on important home decisions.”
“The Ollie’s store located off Westport Road is usually very well stocked, although the aisles can be a little unorganized at times. There is always a very kind and friendly cashier who greets customers with a smile and helps them check out quickly. I really appreciate how the store offers great bargain prices and maintains a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes shopping there enjoyable every time.”
“We needed to replace our ancient washer and dryer. We spent half as much here as we were planning to spend at Lowe's or our local retail appliance shop. I'm very happy with the new set. The staff were great too. No pressure to buy, but available to help, answer questions, and load. If we ever need an appliance again I'll look here first.”
“Gabe's is a haven for bargain hunters who enjoy the thrill of finding great deals on a wide variety of products. While the shopping experience can be a bit overwhelming due to the sheer volume of goods and the sometimes cluttered layout, the potential savings make it worth the effort. It's not a place for those looking for a polished or curated shopping experience, but if you're willing to dig through the racks and shelves, you can walk away with some fantastic deals. Overall, Gabe's is a solid choice for those who love to shop on a budget and don't mind a bit of treasure hunting”
“Mark is the absolute best person to work with! This gift card exchange for one is super easy to work per with! Two his customer service is the absolute best! “Ollie’s Bargain Outlet is a well-known discount retail chain offering a variety of brand-name merchandise at deeply discounted prices. With its slogan, "Good Stuff Cheap," Ollie’s provides a treasure-hunt shopping experience, featuring everything from books, toys, and home goods to flooring, electronics, and seasonal items. Much of their stock comes from overstocks, closeouts, and buyouts, allowing the store to sell quality items at a fraction of the usual retail price. Ollie's stores have a no-frills, warehouse-style layout that reflects its commitment to low prices over flashy displays. The brand’s quirky, fun vibe—personified by its mustachioed mascot, Ollie—adds to its appeal for bargain hunters who enjoy discovering great deals on a constantly changing selection of products.”
“Good prices, music and selection. Friendly staff answer questions the best they can. Ambience to shop is good over all. I just wish they kept better track of what products they are running out of for better replenishment. Last time I couldn't find a type of pizza I always get here.”

Burlington Stores is giving its locations a major makeover. The off-price retailer has already transformed about half of its 1,115 stores and plans to complete the redesign across its entire fleet by the end of 2026. The company calls this makeover "Store Experience 2.0." Gone are the cramped aisles and confusing layouts that once defined discount shopping. Instead, Burlington is creating wider walkways, organized sections, and clearer signs to help shoppers find what they need.
Dollar General is adding more of its private label food offerings to stores, following similar moves by big retailers like Walmart and Amazon as store brands keep growing in popularity. The store is launching new items under its own labels, including ice cream, cinnamon rolls, coffee syrups, and salad dressings. The move comes as store brand sales reached $271 billion in 2024, up nearly 4% from 2023.
Daiso, the beloved Japanese retailer known for its variety of affordable household goods, is expanding further in the U.S. market. This week, the company is celebrating the grand openings of three new stores in Texas and California. On Saturday, Aug. 10, Daiso debuted an 8,000-sq.-ft. location in Beaumont, Texas, at Dowlen Towne Center, as well as two Southern California stores - a 6,319-sq.-ft. space in Van Nuys at Mid Valley Marketplace and a 5,200-sq.-ft. store in Westminster at Westminster Center.
Dollar Tree is moving into 170 former 99 Cents Only stores, marking a big shift in the discount retail landscape. The company announced Wednesday it's taking over leases in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Texas, with plans to reopen the stores under its own brand as early as fall 2024.
Ollie's Bargain Outlet just landed a great deal of its own, winning a $14.6 million bankruptcy auction for 11 former 99 Cents Only store locations across Texas. The discount retail chain pounced after 99 Cents Only abruptly went out of business in March, shuttering all 371 of its stores in California, Arizona, Texas, and Nevada. Ollie's quickly made an opening "stalking horse bid" to grab over a dozen of the empty properties.
