She has only had one visit there but when I called late in the afternoon today with concerns of my baby having a bladder infection she immediately accommodated me in every way possible. She could not have been more compassionate and caring!”

“My Fur Baby Lena had a massive cyst within her mouth and jawbone. She is only 10 pounds. Her Vet Dr. Sancho..highly recommended Dr Richey & his staff. I cannot even explain (BUT I WILL TRY) - I WOULD NOT CALL THIS A FACILITY ! ?IT IS A HOME?with An Entire Staff that is so understanding, personal, kind, very knowledgeable, & full of compassion. My Lena is home & doing fantastic. Our lives have changed because of the severity of the location of her cyst one fall, playing with the wrong toy or accidentally bumping her jaw could completely shatter the remainder of jawbone. Dr. Richey explained in detail how there was not enough left to attach bone graft. But I will tell you this. They have become a part of our family and will be the first in the event an injury happens. ?HIGHLY RECOMMEND?”

I lost my 15 year old boy in March 2020 and my 19 year old boy in March 2021. They gave me advice on how to help my 7 year old girl get through her grieving. I re-homed a 12 year old girl after Hurricane Ida and she has a heart condition. Katie has her on a medication regime that has her spry with energy and more active than expected. I have no plans to move but if I did I would still bring my fur babies to Katie. I can’t say enough about her kindness, compassion for pet and owner, sincere and don’t pull punches personality, wisdom and educational values she imparts and her all around happy demeanor so suits her career vocation. Highly recommend their grooming. Our puppies are usually ready to be picked up by noon and they are very happy when we go pick them up. Love this facility and the one-on-one attention they provide.”

“Animal Health Clinic has been such a blessing! I adopted a senior dog two years ago who was very overweight and had a plethora of other issues that accompanied his extra pounds. Dr. Leonards and all of the techs were always patient with answering my questions. My old man did succumb to kidney failure, but the staff was so sweet through the entire process. Since his passing, I got a new dog & taking her to AHC was a no-brainer! The entire staff greets her so excitedly anytime we walk in and they are always ready to help us! There is no better vet in Baton Rouge!”

Peggy and I would like to thank Animal Medical Center, Dr. Jenny Thistlethwaite Troutman, Dr. Patrick Thistlethwaite, and the staff for taking such good care of our cats while we were on vacation. “This vet clinic is very genuine. They truly care about well being of your pets. I go to LSU and my pups normal vet is in New Orleans. I called them when my dog had a tumor and they had a same day appt. they made sure my pup wasn't traumatized. They kept giving him treats and telling him he is a good boy when sticking the needle in the tumor. They wanted to clean his ears but they decided he had enough of a hard time that day and to wait on it. I'm glad they truly cared about him not being overwhelmed or stressed. They even called a few days later to check on him. Now today, day after thanksgiving I'm in New Orleans and his Nola vet was closed and he has had diarrhea for over a day. So I called highland road for adivce. They were so helpful. If I lived in Baton Rouge after this semester I would be using them as his normal vet. Great vet clinc, super genuine.”

In 2008, Dr. Jessica O'Neil joined the practice and became our primary veterinarian.We implicitly trust Dr. O'Neil's medical and physical treatment of our cats and suggestions related to psychological issues (home and vet anxiety and home territorial issues etc.).For 18 years, Dr. O'Neil has taken care of our cats. Over these years my husband and I have a formed a collaborative relationship with Dr. O'Neil regarding the overall care of our catsDr. O'Neil has become family to us.In 2009 our beloved cat, Lil Bit, and had to be put to sleep. Dr.O'Neil was Lil Bit's doctor so we had an understanding that she would be the one to euthanize him.When that day came, it was Dr. O'Neil's day off; nonetheless, she found a babysitter for her toddler son and came to the hospital. The heartbreak of losing Lil Bit was eased by Dr. O'Neil's presence.Our overall experience with Dr. O'Neil and the Highland Road Animal Hospital staff office has been excellent.”

“Absolutely wonderful! The vet I normally visit had no appointments open, but my dog needed same day care. They worked with me to get my dog in as early as possible. My dog is large and sporadic, and has lots of energy so he is sometimes hard for me to handle on my own. One of the receptionists held him for me while I filled out paperwork, and they did the same when I was checking out. Everyone was so nice and caring while I was there. Dr. Berryhill was extremely thorough, but didn't go overboard on unnecessary diagnostic testing. The pricing is reasonable, I paid less here than I did at my old vet. This is a fabulous establishment! I honestly can't even remember the name of the vet we have previously used, but I will certainly remember Dr. Berryhill for a long time to come!”

“I brought my puppy in multiple times here. Dr. Greene is super nice and very informative with any questions and he will even ask you questions to make sure y'all talk about things which was great. The puppy shots were averaged price. I know places off Highland that cost double..but I wouldn't say GDAH was cheap. I can always get an appointment, and they are always helpful over the phone for any weird questions you may have. The sick pet fee is pretty high, which is unfortunate. I really like the atmosphere here but I do wish you could see them wipe down more things sometimes. My dog has peed on their floor and they were quick to clean it up.”

She said that she could see I hadn't made the decision lightly, which meant so much and when I decided I couldn't be present during the process she didn't make me feel like a monster. I cannot speak for everyone since I have only dealt with Dr. Sacshe and Dr. Moreno but they were the epitome of excellence and compassion and credits to their profession and whoever trained them.”
