Oh My Dog! Our Holly loved it and they loved her. The staff took super care of her and kept her entertained while we were visiting Lafayette. Stephanie gave her the best grooming she’s had. Stephanie clearly has mad skills. So many lagniappes that I lost count.

I have used other Camp Bow locations but never been “WOWED” like this location. Friendly staff, easy check in, clean. Staff actually interacted with my fur baby on the camper cams. Camper cams work! I purchased ball pit activity and the pics and videos I received were amazing. I felt so great knowing my fur baby was getting great care! They also gave him a bath and he was ready right on time for me to pick up. We will be back!!

Deisel and I had the pleasure of working with Danielle at Camp Bow Wow. We did a private puppy pad training session with her and it was very informative and helpful. Look working to working with her more in the future. She was so sweet and knowledgeable. I recommend working with her!

First time posting I promise. As a resident of the Neighborhood they dropped this business in the middle of many years ago, I've finally started to see a decline in their business activity. And I'm glad to say the return of peace and quite is quite nice. Being a daysleeper, as I work nights, it was horrible being woken up hourly when they would systematically release the hounds outside all at once to a thunderous racket just outside my bedroom window. Once when they first opened, after a hard nights work, I found myself rudely woken after just having closed my eyes for only 2 hours. In my rage and sleep deprived delirious state I exited my home in my underwear intent on walking into the business and giving them a piece of my mind. I was luckily intercepted by my neighbor who could clearly see my state of madness and could also relate because he too, was not a fan of the new found noise of a dog pound plopped off in the middle of our Neighborhood. He managed to calm me down and sent me back towards my house before I found myself in jail. Because I'm certain that's exactly where I would have ended up that day. But now as I type this, I can hear the birds chirping once again, it's still 30 minutes before I have to get out of bed at 2pm to start my day, and I have to say, I slept well today. I didn't have to drown out the noise with white noise in the back ground as usual and I haven't the need to sleep with ear plugs in quite some time. It's been fairly quiet for the last few months actually and made me wonder if this place was even still in business. That's why I came to check on the hours of operation and just happened to click on the reviews. And it seems a few negatives have popped in here over the years. Sure I've thought of sabotage. I've even thought of burning my own house down, as no one would ever buy this rundown shack adjacent to a dog pound. But I figured eventually time would end this business for me. Also, Competition from other businesses with newer more accommodating facilities would inevitably pop up and gain more attention as this place dwindled into obscurity. And it seems that's what has finally come to fruition. I'm glad I didn't have to steal an excavator and demolish this place for my own sanity, it seems it only took a few bad experiences and some kennel cough to bring this place down. Maybe next time try to be a little more considerate where you build your dog pound. Most dog pounds I know of are miles out of town in the middle of a sugarcane field where NO one lives. Try that business model. Instead of pissing off your neighbors.

My dogs have never been to a day camp or boarded. We took them in for an interview today and they honestly suprised me. We had taken them somewhere else last Saturday and had a lot of hesitation about leaving them there. We have been watching the cameras at both locations for the last week. Camp Bow Wow slowly introduced others to my dogs and didn't overwhelm them. Every single time I looked at the cameras there was someone in there with the dogs and actually interacting with them. That's a lot more than I can say about the other place. My bigger dog stayed tucked away in the corner at the other place. She was playing and tail wagging here. It also gives me piece of mind knowing how secure the area is. It is going to be hard to leave them for 7 days but I honestly think they will be very well taken care of! Mya and Baylee loved it!

This place is AMAZING. my SD is a little shy and they helped pull him out of it, by their Prue love of their jobs. The owner is great, she is very hands on and goes above and beyond

Please read carefully. This review isnt fiction. My wife and I were fortunate enough to get a puppy in December of 2007 that was a King Charles Cavalier. We were living in Houston and named him Chester. In 2008 we moved back to Lafayette. My wife found Camp Bow Wow in its infancy. I think Chester was the 3rd or 4th puppy that Suzette ever welcomed to her Camp. And welcomed she did. We lived in Lafayette for 4 years till 2012 and then moved back to Dallas. We brought Chester to a few daycare facilities there but when we went on a vacation or a long trip somewhere we always drove back to Lafayette and left Chester with Suzette and the Camp Bow Wow staff. Our puppy was treated like royalty here. In 15 years Chester never left Camp Bow Wow without a smile on his face. 4 days before Chester passed away, even though he could barely get around, I have a picture of Chester sleeping and enjoying what would be the last time the staff of the Camp would see him. He was cuddled up and relaxing, trusting the staff at Camp Bow Wow with every bit of life left in him. He was cared for and loved as if he was their own puppy. Chester never drank tap water. He ate boiled Chicken and rice for most of his life and was one of the healthiest puppies I have ever seen. And to this day we would trust the Camp implicitly with his life. They carried him when he had to go outside. They covered him when he was cold. And every time, and I mean every time, that we wanted to check on him they took the time to talk to us. When Chester passed they sent us a card with an old picture of him that they had forever and wished him well in heaven. To this day that card is over his memorial and his ashes in our home. We now have 2 new puppies by the name of Flower and Coco. They 2 are our kids. Flower and Coco are spoiled. One is another King Charles Cavalier and the other is a 100 lb collie. And they both look forward to going to Camp once a week. All these years I have watched the camp cameras each and every time that I take them to camp. Never, and I mean never have any of our puppies, or for that matter any puppies been abused. Never been uncared for. Never gone hungry or had any injuries at all. About the biggest issue I ever had was them not being dry when I picked them up after a bath. And they fix that. I have toured the camp, I am in constant contact with the staff and never have they not done what I asked. And this is 16 years. Not 16 minutes. I have seen staff come and go like every other business. But Suzette is still there. And I will trust my puppies with her before any other place that exists in this country. The cameras can tell ladies and gentlemen. And if you have doubts call and ask. You can have a tour anytime you want. It pains and angers me that people would literally trash a place they work with misconceptions about abuse to promote their unhappiness with the job. They will probably be unhappy with any job if they are not happy around these beautiful fur animals. But the expression of mistruths to benefit themselves just puts innocent creatures that cannot defend themselves in the line of fire. And if you can use the safety and happiness of dogs, that put their trust in you every day, to whine about having to work, what else can you do. Sorry for being long winded but this place is near and dear to me. I just could not stand by and let someone, or some people speak for Chester, Flower and Coco. Pictures of Flower the collie, Coco the cavalier, and Margaret and Chester and the memorial sent by the Camp Bow Wow family.

!!! DO NOT BRING YOUR BABIES HERE !!!FYI---JUST SHARINGAnonymous User for safety reasons*To whom it may concern,I was previously a worker at Camp Bow Wow - Lafayette, La.I have quite a few concerns. Dogs were stuck sleeping in yards because we overbooked and the owner didn’t want to deny anyone’s reservation. We were booked! We have millions of aggressive dogs that we just allow at camp, I have pictures of hurt dogs. We have had dogs hurt counselors and she did nothing about this. She does not deny any dog even the ones that we can’t even touch because they will attack. We had a dog come in paralyzed from the waist down and the dog sat in a cabin for hours on end without being moved because she could not deny them as she was worried about the money and we had millions of other dogs to care for so it was hard going back and forth to him without getting in trouble for something else . Dogs stay in the yard on average 6 hours a day with no break causing more aggression and anxiety due to over stimulation The ratio is 25 dogs at a time for safety reasons, that corporate rule is broken almost daily. Employees work 13-14 hour shifts without one single break, they get no days off because they are so short handed because everyone sees how cruel it is and quits. We have had a employees boyfriend threaten to come and shoot up and she would not let us call the cops because “it would look bad on her” The owner does not work, she’s more worried about going get her nails, hair done and hanging out with her millions of boyfriends. We have seen the owner making out with different guys multiple times in her office. The owners personal dogs are neglected, covered in fleas. She does not follow her own rules. We have camp counselors sitting in the yards playing on phones, not even watching the dogs. Dogs are stuck in filthy cabins and yards. Suzette Fowler the owner threatened to cut shift leads pay if camp counselors did not do their cleaning. She does not care about your dog or the workers. She is money hungry! The dogs and workers are treated horribly! Please share, this is cruel!!! Camp Bow Wow - Lafayette, La.

In the past whenever our dogs came back from being boarded, for a couple of days they smelled funny and showed us that they did not like being away from us. If you ever boarded your dog, you know how they show their dissatisfaction. But all three of our fur babies stayed at this doggy camp in Lafayette while we were out of town. We loved the fact the camp had a camera that we could watch them on our phone, playing with other dogs while they were monitored by the camp staff. They were well taking care of and looked happy. When we picked up the dogs, we met the owner, every member from the front desk up to the owner were super nice and caring. When dogs came home, they were clean and looked like they enjoyed their time there and were not upset with us.We highly recommend this place and we will be back.

I have used camp Bow Bow for my dogs for vacation and was very pleased with the service and personal care of my fur babies. When Suzette the owner of Camp Bow Bow found out that our four year old Yorkie (Zola) was stolen, she used her camp advertising billboard (which rotated around Lafayette) with my dog’s photo, also used radio ads in order to get the word out to help with our search, all at her own expense. She did all of this just out of the goodness of her heart. We will never forget the generosity, the love ,and the compassion she showed our family during this very difficult time. She is one of the most caring and compassionate and generous persons I know.

I can’t say enough good things about Camp Bow Wow!My dog Gracie is 7 and has been going to camp for seven years and was trained there to become a certified therapy dog. Gracie can’t wait to get in the door to go play with the other campers !We have always had a positive experience . I did try another place but Gracie was reluctant to go in the door. The grooming staff has always followed my instructions and if there was ever a question they would call several times if needed to get the job done exactly like I wanted it.I also board Gracie when we leave town and they have great weekend hours for convenient pick up!Suzette is as kindhearted as they come and is a big advocate for the underdogs!! I love Camp Bow Wow and highly recommend it!

Avoid this place. I took my dog here once and thought he had a great time, but when I tried to bring him back he quickly got anxious and was freaking out. After the whistleblower former employee came forward with accusations, it all just makes sense now. The owners run an incredibly understaffed business (they should be turning down dogs when they hit capacity, not trying to squeeze more money) and don't care about the wellbeing of your dogs. It is also so obvious that they are buying positive reviews now (most of the recent 5 star reviews aren't from people in the local area). Avoid

This used to be my go to place for a groom, but ever since my regular groomer quit it’s been downhill ever since. I do have a golden-doodle and take special care to make sure he is not matted and our former groomer taught me many things to keep my fur baby matte-free. Last time I brought him, he was shaved down dang near to the skin because the new groomer stated he was going through a “2 year coat change,” which I have now been told is not even a real thing!!!! I noticed that the groomer sent an email to me in the late afternoon when my pup was supposed to be groomed in the early morning, which only leads me to believe that this groomer was in a rush and couldn’t be bothered to take his time grooming my pup. THEN, i requested that i be called once grooming is done so I could pick up my pup and I was never called and I had to call near closing time and was told “oh, he’s been done for a few hours now.” Now I find out from Facebook, where former employees recognized my pup’s name and reported that after grooming, he is kenneled (per my request, I don’t want him back in the play-yard), but my pup was not even allowed potty breaks!!! Horrible horrible horrible. I should have trusted my gut feeling every time my pup would come home anxious and drained. Will never get my business again and please don’t respond with a big long paragraph full of excuses or empty promises. Attached are pics before and after. He has NEVER needed to be shaved down that low for mattes ever since he was 8 months old after I was properly educated!! He is now 2.

Everyone here knows my dogs name! they treat my dog so well. She loves coming to camp. It’s evident that the owner and managers are very involved.
