Full Disclosure...My wife works at a hotel. Not a competitor but in the same chain. That being said we never left this hotel a bad review. When there was an issue we just let the front desk know. We didn't want to affect the hotels ratings. But now I'm pissed so I'm going to air it out.I'm a truck driver and I park my truck in a different town and I like to stay at hotels on my home time so it's like a mini vacation. I drive my personal car so my truck doesn't take up the room at hotels. I've stayed in a lot of hotels. I'm a diamond member on every rewards plan out there from Choice to Wyndham. I literally spend thousands a year on hotels.I've stayed at Candlewood on my hometime probably 30 days or more in total. I've had several issues at this particular hotel. It has very low water pressure, half the time the TV freezes up, internet is very slow, rooms are very noisy especially on first floor (which is where they keep putting us even when we request 3rd floor), very limited parking, no breakfast(cause they have kitchen), stove is very hard to operate, couches are extremely out dated and worn, mold, spiders, had water leaking into the hall, dishwasher leak, dishwasher didn't latch so couldn't use it to do dishes, dryer takes over 2hr to get clothes mostly dry.The reason I'll never stay here again however is this. My uncle passed away on Feb 28 and I had to rush home from NC, the wake was going to be in March 1st and funeral on March 2rd. I booked 2 rooms on the 1st. One for me checking out on the 5th and other for my cousin checking out the 2nd. We get to the hotel at about 10pm on the first tired and drained from the wake. And the parking lot was full. Apparently there was a baseball game or something going on. I drove around the small parking lot and only space available was a handicap spot. Previously while here I was told it was ok to park in the spot if no other spot was available since it's private property I won't get a ticket...Well the next morning at 7am we leave to head to the funeral home and there's a parking ticket sitting on my windshield. The ticket is for $300. I ask front desk about it and they were surprised I had a ticket. They told me I needed to talk to the manager Monday when he comes in that he should be able to help. When I spoke with manager and asked him if he could just give me a letter stating the hotel was full that night and there was no other parking spots available I'd appreciate it so I could get ticket removed. He said he needed to call corporate. We checked out and stayed at a different hotel on the 5th. Took 2 days before he got hold of corporate. He said they told him they couldn't do anything. So he then tells my wife he wanted to talk to the manager at Holiday Inn and get their advice on how they would handle it. Well when he finally does contact the other manager (while in a managers meeting) they all said they would write a note saying lot was full. Well he didn't.Took him nearly 2 weeks to come out and say he wasn't going to give us a letter. I wasn't asking for them to cover the ticket if the court denied the letter. I was just asking for a statement a factual statement at that. The girls that work the front counter are great. The manager is a f-ing disgrace. I'll never stay at that Candlewood again. I'll never suggest anyone stay there. In fact about 3 miles down the road closer to the Starbucks is a Staybridge hotel that offers the same features as Candlewood but it also servers a full breakfast and has a pool and it's only a few dollars more a night. So we will be upgrading to a better hotel and Candlewood can melt into obscurity.I really hope the front desk girls move on to find a better place to work. Working under slime ball like Robert is very disheartening.

They don't have enough parking. The weekend we stayed we were there for a funeral and only space left when we got back from funeral home around 10p was a handicapped parking...so we parked and got a$300.00 ticket. The guy at the front desk said we should have parked next door at Dairy Queen but we were not patrons of Dairy Queen. We spoke to the manager (Robert) and asked him for a very basic note stating that they were full and there was no parking. He said he would speak to corporate. He then told me corporate said no on the note. So I am left with no way to fight this. Wont stay again and wont advise others too. I have never left him with a bad review till now.

I was disappointed with my stay here. While it’s technically a hotel, it has more of a motel vibe. It was not worth the money that I spent even after booking through a “bargain” travel website. I was assigned a wheelchair accessible room (I didn’t need or request this type of accommodation) on the first floor, facing the parking lot. My biggest complaints are that the room was very noisy—I could hear everything in the hallway and outside my window—and it had a terrible shower with low water pressure, no hot water, and water leaked all over the floor. I wouldn’t say that I was really impressed with any aspect of this hotel other than the convenience of the location. I had minimal interaction with the staff but they were pleasant enough and the room seemed clean aside from a couple of spiders in the bathroom. If you do choose to stay here, be sure to bring your earplugs.

There were roaches in my room ….. everywhere. The TV didn’t work, the hottest the shower got was lukewarm, not all the outlets worked, the hotel room phone didn’t work to call the front desk. Very disappointed, the staff was very nice and friendly, but overall not worth the money.

Room is lovely and the staff are very helpful and friendly.Rooms: Fully equipped with a stove and a dishwasher and all dishes. Wonderful bathtub with plenty of hot water.Nearby activities: There are so many things nearby: the Tabasco factory and jungle gardens, the Acadian village, vermillionville, an amazing bakery called Poupart, and of course delicious food.

Everything about this place is very, very nice. The rooms were spacious with lots of little amenities, such as a stove-top (no oven but I am not making Thanksgiving dinner either), dishes, a dishwasher, a full-size fridge, and pots and pans. The room was exceptionally clean and the A/C kicked butt. Got cold in a hurry! Plus a small gym and pool and an outdoor grilling area to do your own BBQ. The staff was great, very pleasant and extra helpful. Highly recommend it if you are in the Lafayette, Louisiana area. Location was not terrible but was a busy area.

I have been staying here at the Candlewood for the last two weeks… will be here working for another 4. So far, it’s been wonderful! The staff has been so professional and kind. Everytime I have come and gone, they have greeted me on a first name basis and taken care of any requests without hesitation, the lobby, though small is clean and professional. There is an excellent assortment of food, basic personal items, and sweets for purchase. Coffee is free 24/7. No complimentary breakfast, but for me, the breakfast sandwiches for sale are a treat (I don’t mind the small fee). It has a great little gym with three cardio machines, a set of free weights, yoga mats, and exercise ball. The laundry is free for all guests! (Must provide your own detergent). The room is spacious, water is clean, lighting in the bathroom is excellent for getting ready in the mornings. It’s been quiet on the second floor. The only thing is the room feels damp. Not sure if the AC is at fault (it can get very cold!) or if the relative humidity outside is the culprit. Not a big deal, I’m just used to having dryer air in hotels. So happy that they allow dogs! I had my husband and puppy visit for the weekend and it was great being able to meet other guess with their pops out on the grounds. There’s a small gazebo with chairs and charcoal grills for guests to use and we’ve had several encounters with other families that have been a positive experience. My company is covering my stay, and I could not be happier with this location. I appreciate everyone here at the Candlewood, and would highly recommend.

The entire experience was wonderful. The young man who checked me in at 2am in the morning was very professional and informative about the property and the area. The room was large and had been cleaned very well and had all essential items in the room. The Wi-Fi and TV worked perfect. I would recommend everyone to stay at this Candlewood. Just a great experience over all and very quiet even though it was very busy.????Rooms: Very cleanSafety: Well lite and good area

This hotel was a disappointment to say the least. There was absolutely no TV reception. We were told that they were working on it but that was not the case. Roaches and silverfish in the bathroom. Room was smelly and dingy. One extremely slow elevator. The night clerk was argumentative and insisted she could not do anything or change our room. Walls are paper thin and Kids running down the hall and yelling. Couldn't wait to get out of here.

I'd like to start by saying I've never left a review good or bad about a business this will be my first. I stay at ihg hotels 10 days a month EVERY month and have had bad and good experiences along the way but this one tops it for bad experiences. For two mornings in a row cleaning staff has woken me up with the laundry chute door SLAMMING( I understand it may not have a door arm, the object that slows the door down while closing) but if it's early in the morning the least you can do is hold the door handle while it closes but of course on both days that wasn't possible due to the fact that the cleaning staff has one hand on their cart and the other on their phone WHILE SCREAMING to the person they're talking to AND they both had their phones on speaker so i could hear both sides of their conversations. Front desk staff was polite and cleaning services were not mean but wernt polite about the exchange we had either. I hate being the person to come on Google and have only left a negative review but I didn't pay hundreds of dollars to be woken up two days in a row guys.

I booked a studio suite for a couple of nights. The room was clean and well-equipped. The bed was comfortable, and the staff were friendly. I would definitely stay again!
