They've had my car for 44 days now, when the date for pick up arrives I get an automated text that push's it back 2 more days. I don't get a phone call or any information on why or what's going on. Tuesday and Thursday updates just don't happen even though you're told they will. When I call to see what's up or at least mention that I need my car by a certain time I just get blown off and told to call back when someone else is in the office. Every time I check the estimate the number has gone up. Your insurance WILL want to use these guys, I recommend doing some research and calling around yourself for better options.

Girlfriend brought her car there after being hit for a claim said they couldn’t let her leave because of suspension damage. After we got the car back her key fob was no longer working and the alignment they had done did not hold

My vehicle was backed into and was contacted by insured insurance (Geico) to go to Gerber (Johnson St, Lafayette, LA) and get an estimate for repair of damages. I get there and Gerber wanted to know if I was renting a car today (First clue something was not right), I said no need only be here a little while to get my estimate and go. I was told the vehicle was going to stay and get fixed! Because the insured had a certain plan and this is where it was to be fixed! I told them in no uncertain terms that I did not have insurance with Geico and I was was going to get estimates elsewhere, but I was told because of insurers plan this is where it was going to be done! Needless to say things stared to get very heated in the office for a few minutes as I told them I could and would pick my repair shop and this was not going to be it!!! After a bit of a little calming down I was told to leave. Once outside I contacted a another auto body service to see if this was legit, owner told me this is not the way business should be done. Seems like if they got my vehicle into their garage it was going to be fixed there. this is wrong to be treated like this. I received a call about an hour later from Geico Claims to reschedule for the estimate for the next day back at Gerber and that everything was good. I told Geico no way would I go back into to that place after the way i was treated!!! (this happened in the 3rd week of April 2023) To this day this still makes me so ANGRY !!!

I was forced to go here for my initial estimate on my geico claim. I did not want to go there because I was getting my car repaired somewhere else. Well, I gave in and went to Gerber for my estimate. I told them I was there for estimate ONLY. They then advised me they had to take my car to the back and do a tear down. I knew what they were trying to do when they handed me a paper to sign which actually was me giving them permission to fix my car. This is their STRONG ARM tactic into forcing me to have my car repaired there. I already knew their workmanship from friends and family members who did fall for this tactic & I was not giving in!! I hope this review helps others to understand what they are getting themselves into. You have the right to bring your car to any collision center you want. The insurance companies preferred body shops should not be steering customers to their discount shops.

Took car in for estimate as this shop was on the insurance company list. They said they had to have an assignment to do the work from insurance before they would even quote. I asked how one was expected to commit to buy something without a price and they said that was the way all the insurance companies work. I called my insurance company which said that was untrue. Got quotes from two other shops without their even asking about my insurance so this is apparently just a trick Gerber uses. Wouldn't trust this outfit.

Vehicle was in shop back in beginning of November, after 3 delay I finally got it toward end of December. When I got it back my covers were lost from the bed liner during the repair. I checked in once every 3 week to see If the company has my covers in which they are reliable. Now we are in March.Services: Painting

Worst experience ever. Will never use again. Was canceled TWICE no call or notice, they cancelled once I showed up after a 45 minute drive there. Finally get car in the shop with an estimate of 3 to 5 days car was kept 9 days and car was not fixed took two months to get back in car was another 9 days and was fixed correctly except for when I left the repair shop my engine had an error they did not touch the engine so I thought my car had a legitimately issue. I brought it straight to my dealership only to find out that the tech had not plugged in the radiator vents in which could have damaged my engine had I ignored the warning will never use again!! It doesn’t matter if the repairs finally were completed this is unacceptable. Customer service is non existent they all blame each other and the manager doesn’t even return calls!!!Services: Painting
