As an Executive member I am supposed to have a guaranteed vehicle of my choice waiting for me as long as I give a 24 hour notice. Well I did this here in Lafayette and was told all they have is a mini van. NO THANKS! This is ridiculous and as an Executive member I expect to be treated better than this! Ended up using Budget for the SUV I needed. Think twice before renting here!

Rented a vechile a month in advance, day of received a call to confirm the pick-up which was great.....40 minutes before pick-up received another call stating they gave our rental to someone else so they did not have to rent 2 vechiles.....leaving us with not the right vechile we needed! Very disappointed and very dissatisfied! Not to mention no other rental places had the vechile we needed to accommodate us!

They rented me a van that wasn’t clean. When I went back to the counter, instead of giving me a clean car, they made me wait 30 minutes while they cleaned the van. Bad business. Did I mention I’ve been renting from National since 1991 almost every week?

Booked on app, Arrived to Lafayette Airport, and quickly provided with a free upgrade. Went to the vehicle and within 10 minutes I was in my way to the hotel. Great service.Upon return, I just needed to find an empty parking spot at National and drop off key in Night Drop Box by the airport entrance door. Smooth process. Great job!

I flew in to this location. I'm a Emerald Elite member. No cars were available for a reservation I made 2 weeks before me coming . The lady at the counter told me that I may get a car but it's no guarantee . She told me to come back at 7pm I may get a car . Ma'am I flew in on a plane how do I get around to meeting without a car . Very rude and very poor customer service. No Manager came out to talk to any of the customers that were waiting . I had to get a Uber to my hotel my co worker had a car a another company. This is the worst National Car Rental I've every been to .

I have been flying all day. I had a reservation . The airport is basically empty and it has been over an hour and still no car. This is insane!

I flew to houston to lafayette to surprise my parents for Christmas. I made a reservation a week ago. We called at 7:30am the day of our arrival sec 19 and no knee would answer the phone. We called again at 9:30am because national wAs to bring the car to the FBO. Where we landed and once again no one answered. When I arrived at the national counter the girl at counter on Sunday, dec 19 at 9:30am was extremely rude. At 10 minutes of her punching on her Computeur - She says she needed the reservation number which we gave her and then she said this reservation needs a " special code which I have to get." And she proceeds to walk away. We finally left without a car - she wasted 20 minute finding ways to not give us a car and fir what reason I do not know National this employee is costing you business and know a bad review. I WILL NEVER USE NATIONAL AGAIN. Hope mean girl at the counter is happy!

Another great experience with National Car Rental this time at the Lafayette Louisiana airport. As is typical, National made the process very quick, easy and efficient. In no time at all I was in my vehicle and on my way and returning the vehicle was even faster and easier. Both Associates that I interacted with we're very friendly and accommodating. All of this is why National is my first choice for rental car needs.

Employees were very un-motivated to be there. Waited about 30 mins for a car that I did not get a say so in what it was. It was a Lincoln so nicely equipped but definitely been smoked in. I can not stand cig smoke.

Worst National location in the US! Today I had to wait in line 50 minutes just to have them tell me it may be another hour wait for a car. I had a reservation - doesn’t matter. I have the highest status you can have with their frequent rental program - they don’t care. They are blaming Covid and the hurricane, but no other rental company at the airport has this problem. No lines at Hertz or Avis. Their customers got cars and are gone, but National and Enterprise customers are waiting hours. This is the third time this has happened to me at this location. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. Book Hertz or Avis instead. Management here is terrible. They do not plan ahead to have cars for their reservations, and do not have sufficient staff to handle their business.Update: Per National's response below, I sent them all my info. I received essentially a form response back saying they would have management from the local office contact me. Never heard from anyone again. I stand by my review above.

The National rental car at Lafayette airport was the worst experience I have ever had renting a car. I waited 2 hours for my car along with 10 other people. We all had reservations in advance. Apparently there is only one person that cleans the cars while there were 5 employees standing behind the desk talking to each other while we all waited and waited and waited. I guarantee if they were paid on incentive rather than by the hour, they all would have been out there cleaning cars and getting people on their way.

The employees at this location are great each time I visit. The only downside is the amount of available cars. you pretty much have to take what you can get, regardless of your selection. but the employees do their best to fulfill your needs. Corporate should really revaluate their placement of additional vehicles for this location.

I am a loyal customer of National. Never ad major issues but this last times I felt completely unappreaciated. I rented a compact SUV and they ended up giving me a mini Van. I went back to see if it was a misunderstanding and the only response I got back was "that is the only thing available today". So then why did I had the option to select someting else??I didn't like the mini van at all, too big and too bulky for me so I returned the next day.
