““Hands down one of the best gyms I’ve been to. Anytime Fitness has a great atmosphere, clean equipment, and staff that actually makes you feel welcome from day one. I love that it’s open 24/7 because it fits any schedule. Whether you’re trying to lose weight, build muscle, or just stay active, this gym gives you everything you need to stay motivated. Definitely recommend to anybody serious about improving themselves.””

“Great gym for the area. Just wish they could lower the AC. On hot days it's easily 85 degrees in there. The thermostats are set for 75 but a quick temp check with the phone shows 82 average most days in the summer.”

“This is a nice, clean facility. It is obviously older, but well-maintained. It has a full sized high school basketball court with six rows of bleachers on one side of the court, and exercise machines behind a foam padded barrier on the other side. There are some practice hoops on the side. Good parking next to the gym, across from the Fort Polk Museum.”

“I enjoyed going to this gym. It’s not crowded, which means I didn’t have to wait to use equipment 95% of the time; even during rush hour, it was not crowded.

They have some new equipment, but some of these equipment must have reached their life cycle and could use some replacement, but they still work.

The ladies (three of them) who work there are not friendly. I mean, I’ve walked in on different occasions, seen them behind the desk, and greeted them, but they never responded and looked at me like I had three heads, so I stopped greeting them.
Besides this, it is a great gym if you want to work out in peace.”

“Cantrell is a good gym overall. The equipment is older and several machines are currently broken or in need of maintenance, but you can still get a solid workout if you come prepared. The gym is much more spacious than most others on post, which makes it easy to move around and get your routine done with minimal waiting—even during busy hours. The only time I’d avoid is 0630–0745 on weekdays due to PT formations. Aside from that window, it’s a reliable place to train.”

“This is a great gym! Someone commented about the employees being sexist. I don’t find the employees and staff to be sexist about what everyone should be wearing. They have clear guidelines on a huge board right in the middle of the gym for both men and women. I usually just go to cardio then sauna, & nobody ever harassed me about my dress code because I don’t break the rules. About the gym employees being rude, I recently called to get some information, and the girl on the phone was super nice. She was patient and gave me all the info I needed about sauna.”
