The Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery is a beautiful hotel in a strategic downtown location, within walking distance to major attractions like the French Quarter, Bourbon Street, restaurants, and the Mississippi River. It features beautiful architecture with old brick and hardwood floors. The hotel has nice charm and a good atmosphere, with gorgeous, clean, and very well-maintained rooms that are big and have comfy beds and noteworthy furniture. Attention to design and captivating details is evident. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and very welcoming. Parking is available, with free parking two blocks away or validated paid parking across the street. The lobby, waiting area, and indoor restaurant are nice. Some downsides are noted. Noise can be an issue, with some rooms located near a night club being very loud, and internal noises from other rooms or electro-mechanical sources sometimes audible. While many details are cared for, some maintenance aspects are lacking, such as wobbly fixtures, limescale accumulation, dust, or occasional issues with room amenities. The hallway carpets and walls could use some renovation. Overall, it is considered a decent, beautiful hotel with a great location, though light sleepers should be cautious about potential noise.
