About The Cabildo Museum

The Cabildo is a great little museum in a historic building dating back to the Spanish rule of the city. It is a beautiful museum and a great resource for all you need to know about the history of New Orleans. The exhibits are well curated, very informative, and cover both history and art with lots of interesting facts, artifacts, and audio-visual components. The first floor exhibit is a little bit of everything, showcasing unique pieces of the city like architecture, food, jazz, and Mardi Gras. The second floor focuses on the founding and the Battle of New Orleans, with memorabilia and information on that time period. There is also a temporary contemporary art exhibit. The museum offers cool views of Jackson Square and is a pretty nice place to take pictures. Entry tickets are only ten dollars.
