The 1850 House Museum and Gift Shop offers a fascinating and peaceful detour from the bustle of Jackson Square. A self‑guided or volunteer tour offers informative signage and well‑decorated rooms with a unique glimpse of mid‑19th century New Orleans life. The open floorplan flowing with multiple levels and the staff are welcoming and informative. Audio stations not working, but the experience still worthwhile. Tickets are appropriately priced, with $6 student tickets and a quick house tour that took about an hour. The gift shop local trinkets and goods to buy.
If you're into seeing homes from the past you will probably like checking out this old home.

Learned a lot with our volunteer tour guide. I'm a relative local but her info filled in a few gaps and reminded me of a but that I'd forgotten. Nice way to spend a couple hours.

$6 student tickets for a little quick house tour was not bad. Very appropriately priced. Lots of local trinkets and goods to buy from the store as well.
