The Green Project, a non-profit organization serving New Orleans since 1994, is dedicated to promoting a culture of creative reuse. Through its four main programs - a paint recycling program, salvage store, environmental education, and community workshops - the Green Project diverts usable materials from landfills and cultivates a respect for their value. By selling used materials and teaching about reuse, the organization provides affordable resources to the community, keeps goods out of landfills and nearby waterways, preserves historic architectural pieces, and educates residents about environmental issues and home repair. Customers praise the Green Project as a great place to find unique items for house and art projects, with helpful and friendly staff. The organization also accepts donations of household items like leftover paint and fixtures, offering an eco-friendly solution for disposing of unwanted materials.
It has been a wonderful experience over the years to locate and donate items we can't utilize in our office. For our recent move out, we recycled 50% of our items to The Green Project.

I love the concept of this store. I bought an old laminate piece of wood to use for a food photography background for $10.
