“This is a family run plant/ pet store that has a lot of selection and lower prices than the big box home improvement stores. The starter plants are obviously well cared for and thrive in our garden. They offer plants that do well in this climate and are knowledgeable about their planting and care. I don't think anyone in the area has the aquarium tanks and supplies as the Rose Garden. As an older person, it's nice that they will load bags of fertilizer, and other heavy or bulky items.I was into bonsai and was overjoyed to find their bonsai tool, supplies, and pot section. It's always a serene experience.”

“I wanted to have the front yard and back patio of my home professionally landscaped. I have no talent with plants and had no specific idea of what I wanted. I met with Alex and asked that he just do what he thought best. Clean slate.
I could not believe how clean and beautiful his vision was. He maximized what was already there and everything he added was healthy and manageable for me. I am delighted with the finished product and the professionalism of Alex and his entire crew, and I look forward to working with them again in the near future.”

“I have enjoyed all my visits to this garden supply store. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. The prices are always fair and reasonable as well. It’s my go to store for soil and nutrients. A lot more people sell Fox Farm soil now, but there’s price gauging out there and often these places don’t store their soil very well from the elements. Grow Wiser doesn’t store their soil indoors or anything, but it’s always in really good shape when I bring it home. Other stores I’ve found bugs and excessive moisture in the bags, even to the point of getting a bag of mud once or twice. Sometimes this isn’t a huge concern, but i often use soil for a lot of cactus mixes and transplants need dry soil for at least a few weeks. So in my case it’s a big bonus to get a well preserved bag of soil. I’ve learned a lot from talking with the main employee of this store also, he’s a friendly and helpful individual.”

“Inventory is, by FAR, the greatest in the Slidell region. Forget Home Depot, forget Lowes, forget Garden Spot or other mom and pop plant nursery stores. First in this region, I am picking up three Mediterranean Palms later today. Fantastic quality stock.”

“This florist went above and beyond to save my GF's birthday. They went out of their way to call me personally multiple times to confirm the flowers made it to the right place. Mardi Gras parade road closures we're causing issues but they reached out to me personally to confirm that they had the correct information and that the flowers would be there on time. So thankful for their commitment to excellence. Can't recommend more.”

“This is a locally owned family business which has served west bankers for years. They have pretty much everything you need in order to grow roses, lots of other flowers, vegetables and herbs. Oh, and don't forget, trees suitable for transplanting into your yard. My favorite item: a fine selection of roses every spring, including many classic and new hybrid teas. They also have bedding plants (vegetables, flowers, herbs), seeds, and all the miscellaneous garden stuff - everything from manure to assorted organic and not so organic fungicides and bug sprays. Plus, the owner and many staff members are knowledgeable about local gardening and can give hints.”

“Went in to buy a power drill. Great service from caring, well trained, well meaning, likable staff. This is a Home Depot. Nothing special but clearly well managed and better than what you expected from the usual Big Box store.”

“I have to shout out Home Depot in the east. I went in this evening because I didn't feel like traveling out of the neighborhood.

The first thing I noticed: there were plenty of employees in the store!
The store was well lit.
I walked into two different departments and BEFORE I could ask for help, I was OFFERED assistance!

Shout out to Tuan and Reaux. I would be remiss if I didn't also shout out Ms. Priscilla (Mgr?), visible and available to the customers. And I can't forget my two cashiers - yes I went back a second time today - Edna and Zyria, courteous and professional.

Thank you store #352”

“The Home Depot at 8601 W Judge Perez Dr in Chalmette, LA, has a lot to offer, especially with their pre-Christmas deals. I picked up some LED smart home lights for just $5 each, definitely a bargain!

Their tool selection is solid, although a few items didn’t stand out to me. One area of disappointment was their chainsaw selection, which was almost identical to Lowe’s. I’m not a fan of the market’s growing shift towards electric saws. Maybe I’m a bit old-fashioned, but I prefer shop tools that plug into the wall and outdoor tools that run on gas. Gas-powered tools remain more reliable in emergencies, like during power outages.

I had an interesting conversation with another customer about how electric chainsaws are reportedly causing safety concerns with chainsaw chaps failing—something worth noting if you’re shopping for one.

The staff was a mixed bag. While I found most employees distracted or unavailable, the cashier stood out for their friendliness and patience while helping me with my veteran discount. That level of service left a positive impression. Overall, it was a good visit, and I’d recommend this location for the deals and convenience.”

“Everyone was friendly. I needed something very obscure and even though many of tge floor staff wasn't certain it was carried, they helped each other find my item. I don't shop home depot any longer because of various choices the owner makes but I had no choice this time so I'm glad I had a good experience”
