Really enjoyed this meal! 4 courses, each thoughtful and delicious, at a good price point in central Maine. So why were we the only table on a Friday night? People, please patronize this restaurant! 3 states for atmosphere because it was 1. Empty 2. Too dark in front, too bright in back 3. Decor needs some work. But all of that is secondary to the food, which was good. I think they’re taking a hit for the lack of polish but don’t let that deter you. A rare bright spot in the overpriced, bland desert that is central Maine dining. I’ll be back, and I hope we’ll have some company next time!

Took my partner here to surprise him with somewhere new, and it was a pleasant surprise for us both!The food was fresh and tasty! We tried the four course meal, and I would say itbwas fine dining, without getting too out of touch!The portions were all well sized, and the flavors were easy to recognize and not overdone. The menu changes regularly, as they prefer to cook local foods as they are in season, so it always feels like a new adventure whenever you go!It was more of a comfy atmosphere than romantic, but we both went home with full bellies and had a great time!A little more expensive, but worth every penny! Definitely planning to go again!

Had our Valentine’s dinner tonight. .Ambiance was lacking something fierce. No romantic music, no romantic lighting. Barely any interaction at the Chef’s table. Didn’t get our dessert, no creamer or sweetener for coffee. Don’t mind paying for the experience of good food and good service. This did NOT live up to the

The way the menu is presented by the waiter is you can order a la carte but we very much recommend you do the tasting menu and order 1 item from each of the 4 courses. So, you are basically pushed into that. I would have been far more pleased w a couple of items from the 4th course than I was with 1 from each.The fish sticks were over cooked really taking away from the beautiful white fish drying it out. The haddock cheeks were served w a thick batter and fried, again not allowing this rarely found cut of fish to shine.We found the pork belly nicely done and the glaze a very nice touch.The beef cheek was nicely done.The custard portion of the creme brule was perfection, but the sugar crust was a bit over fired to the point of being too bitter.

I am not sure why it's taken me so long to write a review, but here it goes.Hands down our favorite restaurant in the Augusta area.The food is always amazing, fresh, and different compared to what's offered around the area. We loved their food and service so much, that we chose to have our wedding rehearsal dinner here. Eli (Chef) was very easy to work with, as I'm kind of a picky pants and he changed our menu around a few times. He had the restaurant decorated with flowers and candles. The place looked so inviting, but also casual (as this is our style). He accommodated our love for metal music with a great Playlist as well. The food was on point (as it always is!) And our guests were very impressed with the food. We still get compliments about our dinner and it was back in 2021. I honestly can't say enough great things about The Oak Table. Totally worth going if you haven't tried it and if you have tried it and haven't gone back, what's your deal?!Amazing food!Amazing service!Amazing experience!

My favorite place in n the area. The tasting menu is such a treat.Vegetarian options: Plate are made to order with plenty of dishes meant to be vegetarian or easily converted to such.Dietary restrictions: All plates are made from scratch. Seems hey can accommodate all restrictions.Parking: Plenty of free parking in Augusta.

Me and my best friends went there last night in the snow storm for our reservation. We’re not sure but we think they kept the restaurant open for just us. We felt so thankful as we were celebrating their birthdays and one of our friends pregnancies! The food and service was top tier. Everything was delicious. The chef came to thank us at the end of our meal. Our server was very sweet and attentive! We felt like they truly went above and beyond. We will be back!

Our dining experience was perfect. The courses were delicious with a variety of interesting options, the atmosphere was warm and intimate, and the service was flawless. We're already looking forward to future visits!

Our first, but definitely not our last visit to this awesome, but small eatery!Our server, Mason, gave us the seat of our choice and remained attentive the entire time. He was also the bartender and made us two stellar, house cocktails, a cider sangria and a spiced pear and rum cocktail. Both were a treat!The menu was varied and interesting. Four courses, with a few selections for each course. Both of us started with cream of mushroom soup, which had an intense but smooth mushroom taste. Chef Dan added some additional mushrooms and herbs to the top, which pushed course one, over the top for my tastebuds. Delicious!Course two, I had fried lion's mane mushrooms...you, I love mushrooms. They were cooked well, a little bit of salt from some crumbles, just brought the flavor out more. My wife ate the Smokey bell pepper with whipped goat cheese. She won round two. Both dishes were excellent. Course three was a crispy pork belly with beet sauerkraut for my wife, and a stuffed Swiss chard with lamb and rice for me. The crispy texture on the pork was off the rails perfect! This was amazing. However, my stuffed chard left me smiling. I'll call this course a draw.Course four was my crowning glory. I had Red Deer backstrap with sautéed baby kale and beet-pomegranate side. WOW! Perfectly cooked to MR and a great compliment with the side. My wife had the rigatoni and it was very good...but mine was better We split the Kahlua chocolate pudding for dessert and we're fighting over the brûlée bananas. What a dinner! We're already looking forward to our next visit!

Absolutely amazing. Everything was delish and I would definitely recommend. Next time I come to Augusta Maine, I will be heading here. Wish I could give more than 5 stars though.
