About Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce
The Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce visitors center is the place to come for details on all that Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, and Mount Desert Island have to offer. Stop by for recommendations on what to do, where to stay, dining, shopping, and more. The staff is super nice, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable. In the winter you can get the Acadia National Park Passport stamps here and purchase a park pass at a reduced price. It is a nice place to get information, and you can take a picture with their blue lobster statue. Visitors should note that military personnel cannot get a national park entrance pass there and must go to the main visitor center. Occasionally, the center may be out of park passes, which is not noted on the website. The town is a very busy place with traffic and paid parking. Some reviews express that Bar Harbor is a great place to visit but is becoming less affordable, especially for families, with concerns about high prices for food like lobster rolls and ice cream, describing it as a tourist trap focused on profit.
