“This was our first visit to the Maine Maritime Museum and we loved it! In January & February, on the weekends they have free admission. Because of the winter weather, the outside exhibits are off-limits but that didn't bother us. We started off by watching a short video about the history of ship building and the museum grounds. I learned so much! The exhibits were very thoughtful and helped to tell the stories of folks who built these massive ships. I especially liked the lighthouse light, the tugboat display, and the lighthouse keeper's exhibit. There is also a large collection exploring climate change and its impact on the Gulf of Maine. There's very scenic views of the Kennebec River from inside. The restrooms were clean, the volunteers were kind and knowledgeable, and there's a lovely giftshop as well. We are planning on returning in the summer to explore the outside exhibits too.”

“We get to this place every year for the mid coast sea kayak rendezvous for our socials and dinner. (With the exception of the last 2 years due to covid) The food has always been great! There is a good selection of beers, which is good because I'm not a fan of hoppy beers. The best part is the staff, they are always helpful and super friendly, they always go above and beyond. Thank you!”
